The reason snipers are useless is because they are not allowed to function as they are suppose. Snipers are support from afar, they are recon, then sneak in and give you BDI and Int. They are also area deniers, you put a sniper in an area you dont want to be surprised or flanked and they hold it down. But they want to allow snipers to be snappy, the only issue is this game isnt suppose to have quick scopers. So get rid of the that, and ad a real kill chain to the sniper rifle. Be stationary, preferably prone especially for long shots or at least mounted on something. aim (it takes a second no fast cheek purchase. then aim, hold breath and shoot. If you hit them they die. Smaller calibers have quicker rate of fires and more ammo, but the sweet spot goes away at greater distance like 300m, then your large calibers come in, a little slower, but shoot "flatter" over long distance.
Do this, and snipers become intentional weapons, and you can get rid of sniper glint, and the range finders, you already have spotting that gives you range. so let the player do the math and hold. It would be nice to get a scope for each gun that was set up correctly for mos but meh. mil dot and figuring it out is fun. which give us clean scopes with smaller cross hairs, ITS CALLED A CROSS HAIR! HAIR! not number 2 pencil. these thick reticles are disgusting.
