Nerfing silencers by arbitrarily giving them less muzzle velocity or locking other attachments makes no sense at all, if anything silencers should increase muzzle velocity, 20-30pts is alot, they are not overpowered like you said yourself so why the hell would you put some stupid arbitrary nerfs on them? genuinely horrible take never take up gamedev please
Let's be honest, there wouldn't be anything arbitrary about a muzzle velocity nerf. Silencer efficacy with normal ammunition loads are really ineffective at sound suppression. Whether it's a good balance decision or not is out of my wheelhouse and I'm not wading into the topic beyond this: it would not be unrealistic to require subsonic ammunition for significant sound suppression.
