The Biggest Problem Excessive Game Speed and Poorly Designed Small Maps

It is disappointing to see that Battlefield has drifted away from what made the franchise truly great. Battlefield 6 is far too fast-paced, sacrificing tactical depth and realistic immersion for chaotic, arcade-like gameplay.

Based on community discussions, approximately 85% of players are dissatisfied with the game’s excessive speed. This is a significant indicator that cannot be ignored. As long as the game maintains this rushed tempo, Battlefield will continue to lose its identity and player base.

Please reduce the overall game speed to the level of Battlefield 1 or Battlefield 4.
Both of these titles struck the perfect balance between immersion, strategy, and pacing — a balance that defined the essence of Battlefield. If Battlefield 6 were adjusted to a similar tempo, most players would be far more satisfied and likely return to the game.

Additionally, many of the current maps are too small and poorly designed, leading to chaotic engagements and the near elimination of team-based strategy. Battlefield has always stood for wide, strategic, and immersive combat zones — not confined, fast-paced arenas.

Battlefield is supposed to represent tactics, teamwork, and atmosphere — not speed and chaos.
For the sake of the franchise’s integrity and longevity, we strongly urge the developers to slow down the gameplay and revisit map design with the spirit of classic Battlefield in mind.

Also, that ridiculous knee-sliding mechanic needs to be removed. We're not playing Frotnite here. You've turned a war game into a circus act. The game is aimed at 12-13 year olds.

  • I think the speed is on par with most modern BF games, but the maps are truly small. The respawn is too quick, add the close objectives and you have a COD style like game.

I don't mind the sliding but it needs to situational so they need to retouch the movement mechanics and dial up the intensity. I do agree they need to slow movement speed, reduce jump and they need to think the overall engagement of battle. Foot soldiers shouldn't be the only focus, the overall implementation and engagement of battle needs to reworked.

For the love of GOD fuse or increase the size of the maps. Stop spoon feeding players, thats y we have bots on the game, you don't need to hold our hand to make a game good or simply add a tutorial, personally the campaign covers this well but try to define the classes better.

Yes, I agree. However, they should limit the sliding mechanic a bit because it looks too artificial and exaggerated right now. The game is definitely too fast, and the maps are quite small. They really need to redesign these maps from the ground up.

  • OP is exactly right. It's a sacrifice of depth for shallow lolz.

Unfortunately this is what EA's target audience seem 'happy' with. When I say 'happy' I mean they drool and giggle and nod vigorously like good little consumers.

I feel it's over for the franchise.

It used to straddle the middle ground between arcade and milsim nicely and was the best of the shooters because of that.

Now, unfortunately, EA - greedy corp that they are - decided they want a 'wider audience' at the expense of the original fan base. They got in a CoD boss and positioned BF to grab as much of the CoD and BR audience as possible.

Why they couldn't make a new IP and avoid ruining BF I don't know... well, I do... lazyness and lack of caring. Much easier to abuse an existing franchise than go to the effort and risk of promoting a new one.

You’re absolutely right. They basically gave us a reskinned version of 2042 and lied to the players. They’re both lazy and working with inexperienced developers who clearly don’t know what they’re doing.
