The comeback mechanic is BS

Let me paint you a picture.

A nice Conquest Match on Liberation Peak. Pretty back and forth. Lead changes several times, score is tight. As per usual, I kinda struggle with kills, so I focus on support and capturing points. All good.
28 minutes in the game, the score is 130 for us, less than 40 for the enemy. 3 captured points each. Last effort boys !
We lose one point. They neutralize it, but don't manage to recapture it. So we have 2 points, enemy has 3. Come on, we can just... huh ?
Game ends at 29 minutes, enemy has 30 tickets left. Our tickets went into another dimension. We lost 130 tickets in less than a minute, the drain was about 3 tickets per second.

I don't care about winning or losing. I don't care about my KD. But when a decent game ends in such BS, I question the sanity and/or drug consomption of whoever came with this idea and whoever implemented it.

The comeback system needs to be clarified somehow, and to be more consistent. For instance, for the first team reaching 50% tickets (600), take the difference with the leading team, and give a percentage of the difference to the losing team. With numbers. Let's say the score is 900 to 600. Team is losing by 300 tickets. Give, let's say 50% reinforcements, in this case 150, to the losing team.

I am not against a comeback mechanic. I think it encourages comebacks and makes the game more intense at times. But a shadowy mouth just swallowing tickets without a warning is stupid. And also feels inconsistent, since sometimes the system seems to be very aggressive, and sometimes not. Probably tied to the timer of the game, just as if a game should never go over the 30 minutes mark.

Yeah another bull mechanic nobody ask for.

Keep ruining the fun out... right dice?

  • The idea of a comeback mechanic is not bad, it has existed in BF1, in the form of the Behemoths. The current implementation is bad. It is seemingly random, it is triggered without informing players, and it can shift a game in a matter of seconds. It is not "ruining the fun", it is just confusing. Winning or losing a game matters very little, since your rewards are not affected by victory or defeat, but by your score.

I do not advocate for the removal of the mechanic, but a rework is NEEDED. If the idea of reinforcements is not preferred, just put a giant warning at the top of the screen saying "last stand mode" or something.
