The state of Bipods in BF6

I’m an avid LMG player and have always loved playing support and laying down suppressing fire for my squad and team.

Ever since 2142 I’ve picked this to be my most enjoyable play style, and I know I’m not alone! Having a bipod that is effective makes this a far more enjoyable experience.

Bipods in BF6 sadly are quite awkward and I feel need a bit of a rework. Personally I feel the way they worked in BF1 was perfect. But at the least I feel as though having an auto deploy feature as long as you have toggled the bipod (much like a laser or torch) is what we need.

Only being able to deploy the bipod after ADS is clunky and I have noticed that the deploy is very inconsistent in BF6. Especially as LMGs tend to have a long ADS time this can become very cumbersome when wanting to quickly deploy and start shooting.

Some surfaces refuse to allow the bipod to deploy, ledges and windows have all given me issues, in places I think a bipod would be effective and I’d assume they would work easily.

It may seem like a small issue, but it’s at the core of LMG gameplay for support and would also help out DMRs and rifle players too.

Please up this so it can get some recognition !
Thanks :)

  • I main LMGs and am having fun.  I agree BF1 was great.  I normally don't use the bipod because it makes me a target.  How do you deploy it, which key?

    Thanks.

I have mine bound to a button on my mouse. I use the bipod quite a bit, especially when a lot of my team is around. You tend not to get instantly targeted then! Cheers

  • Hard to deploy and cannot aim up at all. It's complete and utter garbage. I wasted my money on a game that looks great but has "RESTRICTED" the gameplay.

  • Without suppression in modern BF games LMGs are at a massive disadvantage, too inaccurate giving away your position with the bad TTK, person not moving is at a massive netcode disadvantage, all run and gun weapons way too accurate, while being the worst automatic weapons for close range.

I think a well balanced suppression system slightly lower compared to BF3 makes the game more interesting

I am primarily a CoD player, Yeah I know, Sorry. But I finished the BF6 campaign, It was ok/good. It is a little short and no tight and difficult parts to complete.  I give it a 60 out of 100

Then I went into multiplayer, WOW! What a joke of a game. Is it just me or is this game just another CoD/War Zone? I wasn't going to purchase BO7 and play BF6 instead. But after 9 hours in multiplayer I am done. It is just like a CoD map that plays like real crap. EA built a CoD knockoff and it appears that they are way behind and have no idea what they are doing, other then ruining a good franchise.

I give BF6 Multiplayer 40 out of 100. It is really bad.

Have fun playing BF6 junk, I am back to CoD. I will come back in about five years, By then they may have it to where it will actually be competitive gaming.

  • Haven't tried out the LMG's yet. So bipods don't auto-deploy like in past games?

Bipods are indeed trash. You can't set them up most places where you can look down... yet you can't look up AT ALL. Completely pointless attachment unless you like getting shot in the head by a sniper.
