Todays Portal Update - lies - betrayed- theft

regarding the recent changes made to portal as well as planned changes. the removal of xp and progression when enabling bots.

absolute joke, you've lied and stole money!

this is not the game that was advertised and not wat i bought it for, as an older gamer i don't not have the skills to play PVP, i bought the game with some friends because it was advertised with full xp and progression with official portal servers using bots, not addition settings changed, just a official portal server, backfilled with bots, so some old gamers could have some fun. and now this has been taken away. many many people in the community were in the same position as us, and today you have doubled down. now this game for us is simply not worth playing. i know ea doesn't care as they already have the money.

you have lied to us

you have stole from us

you have betrayed us.

Sorry, I've just seen a lot of people try to "um actually" around what "verified" is supposed to mean.

    FROM THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION:

    "Federal Consumer Protection Laws

    False Advertising and Consumer Rights

Removing content from a game after it has been advertised can potentially violate federal consumer protection laws, particularly if the removal is deemed deceptive. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) enforces laws against false advertising, which includes misleading claims about products or services. If consumers purchased a game based on advertised features that were later removed without notice, they may have grounds for a complaint.

    Relevant Legal Framework

    1. FTC Act: This act prohibits unfair or deceptive acts or practices in commerce. If the removal of content is considered misleading, it could fall under this law.
    2. Lanham Act: While primarily for competitors, this act allows for claims related to false advertising, which can indirectly protect consumers by holding companies accountable for their advertising claims.

    State Consumer Protection Laws

In addition to federal laws, many states have their own consumer protection statutes. For example, California's Consumers Legal Remedies Act (CLRA) may apply if the removal of content is seen as an unfair or deceptive practice. Consumers can pursue claims in small claims court if they believe they have been harmed by such actions.

    Conclusion

If a game publisher removes advertised content without prior notice, it may constitute a violation of consumer protection laws. Consumers are encouraged to report such practices to the FTC or their state consumer protection agency for further investigation."

There should be at least a USA wide Class Action Suite against EA!  Maybe a Go-Fund me to hire a team of attorneys?  They need to answer for the bad they have done!

Taking away the main feature regarding this game that most people bought it for... solo play (and with friends) against bots with full progression!

They did not even make it clear about the 25 tier skips.  The advertising was deceptive, at best.  I thought that would be available when the actual tier skips would be released... no matter what the player tier was currently.  NO WHERE DID IT SAY IT STARTED IT LEVEL 1 (ONE) IN THEIR ADVERTISING.

How was a player going to play Early Access, 2 BETAS, and then be at LEVEL 1 when the tier skips would much later, actually become available?

TO BE MORE CLEAR: Whether players liked it or not, or even cared or not...they took away a heavily advertised feature, and actual part of the game... WITHOUT NOTICE!  They said something was going  to be done about the bot farms.  They did not say they were going to take away a MAIN feature of the game from every single player in the game!

AND, even if they had said the previous, and did the best they could for every single player to see it, where would the player recourse be?  How could players get their money back?

Thank you to all that commented or liked.

I am so disappointed with this game, it had such a great base to work from (beta) and have now destroyed all consumer confidence and trust in there product. FFS just put a PVE portal back in the game with all maps/progression available as promised and all the noise will go away - Its not difficult so just do it.

Concentrate on removing the farming portals, which we all dislike as cheating but to be fair YOU/DICE because of your arrogance have left the players with little choice but to use these portals to have any chance to progress with your weapons/challenges. YOU fkt this up and now YOU have to deal with it.

I would be interested to see the player drop off figures since the launch and don't get me started on the resent update **bleep** show, which resulted in an advertised major competition having to be cancelled, How embarrassing that you couldn't even check and review your own update before launch  WOW.

Well that's my rant add on for today - Not that anyone from EA/DICE ever replies to posts anyway.
