So as the title states I think the weapon progression is way too slow considering theres like 30+ ranks per weapon. I think one needs around 40 hrs or maybe more of playing ONLY THAT WEAPON and thats kinda way too grindy. And some weapon unlocks are also just a joke... Is that just me thinking this?
It is not just you, it is a lot of us + all the people who quit until they change the progression
Question would be how many players will they have in two years...
If you're the type of person that plays hundreds or even thousands of hours of Battlefield, having something to work towards is very welcome. If you're the type of person that can only play a couple of hours each week, then you're going to struggle to progress as much.
In terms of gameplay I don't think there's all that much to worry. An average player only needs a few hours for each weapon to get towards a competitive build. It's going to suck pretty hard for players that camp the edge of the map though.
aaand now they basically removed the possibility of farming wep exp with bots and they made it "easier" to farm the weapons in general but its still WAY TOO MUCH of a grind... great!

if lvling one type of weapon raised the other sub wpns of the same time passively to some degree it could help
I like that it is more spread out and can take time, in a year or two time I want to still have unlocks and stuff to grind for.
I agree with the original post here. The grinding in this is taking way too long for casual players or someone who can't grind every single day. I play for a 2 hour stretch and barely make a dent in one weapon. I've only used a couple weapons because I've been working on them to try and rank up and I feel like I'm missing out on other guns, but I don't want to use them yet since they will have no unlocks. The weapon progression and over XP progression is very slow, especially compared to the beta. The pace of the beta was great!
and it creates even more gap between new and old players. bad move from dice
Agreed as a person that is not going to no life this game unlocks are way to slow level 14 and locking challenges to unlock **bleep** behind rank is dumb and makes me not want to play when I have good matches and don't unlock anything for like 2 hours sucks
