What if Battlefield anniversaries became real in-game events?
I recently noticed that the official Battlefield social media pages regularly post about the anniversaries of older titles like Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Battlefield Vietnam, or Battlefield Hardline.
Every time I see one of these posts, it gives me a strong sense of nostalgia. It reminds me how much these games have shaped the Battlefield franchise.
At the same time, though, it feels like a missed opportunity.
These posts often generate a lot of engagement — thousands of likes and comments — which clearly shows that the community cares about Battlefield’s legacy.
So it got me thinking:
why not connect these moments directly to the game?
For example:
-A small themed reward (player card, title, emblem)
-A weapon or vehicle skin inspired by that specific game
-Or even better: a limited-time weekly challenge to unlock something related to that title
It doesn’t need to be anything big. Even a small addition would make these moments feel much more meaningful in-game.
Since we already receive free rewards from time to time, tying them to Battlefield anniversaries would be a great way to:
-Celebrate the history of the franchise
-Reward long-time players
-Give everyone a reason to log in during those events
Right now, it feels like the nostalgia stops at social media… but it could easily become something players actually experience in-game.
What do you think? Would you like to see anniversary-themed rewards or challenges in BF6?
