Will the program "framepacer" get you banned?

Hey EA Admins,

I just wanna know if the program "framepacer"  is bannable ?

It's a program on Steam:

The program works in similar ways like RivaTuner Statistics Server (RTSS).

At first glance, this does not look "banable". Having said that, EA Anticheat may not agree and you may have to remove framepacer. EA_Barry.

Yeah, but that's a bit of a circular problem DICE is creating here:

On one hand, they won't tell us exactly what is "banable". I understand why, but then we can't know for certain if this or that bit of software that in practice has nothing to do with cheating might still be recognized as such.

But then if we try it, we can get banned, and from what I see in this forum, recourses don't actually work well if you do get in that situation. Heck, even if the recourse works, they won't tell you what the issue was, you don't even know what to correct.

It's a catch 21, for a game that costs $70. I'm all for having the best anticheat possible, but they've created a system where rules-abiding customers get ensnared and can't get out of.

Arguably, the best anticheat is like the best encryption: it's the one that does not break despite everything being above board. Relying on obfuscation just punishes the wrong people.
