It is really about making each type of weapon dominant at their range, full auto weapons dominate up close, dmr dominate mid range and snipers dominate long range.
That's how they need to balance it.
As in the bloom/spread thread though people want to be able to zap across the map full auto because why have full auto guns if you can't full auto everything....
Seriously though smg's should go to pot around 50m, assault rifles at 80m and dmr's should be good between 80 and 100m after that it's sniper territory.
Each gun should excell in its usage range and be rubbish outside it.
