Battlefield 6 BSOD — DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER (eaanticheat.sys)

BugCheck 0xF7 = DRIVER_OVERRAN_STACK_BUFFER → almost always a bad kernel-mode driver (anti-cheat, RGB/motherboard utilities, audio “enhancers,” overlay tools, storage/USB filters).

RAM instability can mimic it, but 0xF7 nearly always points at a driver that corrupted kernel memory.

In my case, WinDbg shows the faulting module as eaanticheat.sys while running bf6.exe (Battlefield 6). Looks like EA Anti-Cheat overflowed the stack, causing a system bugcheck.

Has anyone else run into this with the latest update? Any official word or workaround from EA yet?

  • Thanks for attaching the DXDIAG straight away. It helps.

The report looks pretty good except for the Diagnostics section at the bottom. It appears multiple applications are having issues. So, investigate those and you might find your solution.

If you haven't updated your BIOS, I suggest doing that.

Also, making sure you memory timings match your CPU's capabilities in the BIOS. My BIOS allows me to set memory timings higher than what the CPU could handle and that was causing issues.

  • Hey stumbled across your post as I myself am also experiencing this /after/ they released the BR mode. Did you find a workaround/fix for the issue?

I guess DarthFDG also stated upping memory timings, which as fun as that sounds, I'm planning on keeping everything as stock as possible.

MOBO bios is up to date.

I haven't had a single clean BF6 session since the Redsec/Season 1 update, all because of this caused by eaanticheat.sys
