Battlefield 6 keeps breaking my video drivers. Question

I tried playing a few matches with a friend, and the exact moment I spawned, the game froze. After a few seconds, my screen went black ('No signal detected' on the monitor) followed by an error sound. I can’t see the actual error because, at the moment of the crash, the PC stops recognizing both of my GPUs (the dedicated one and the integrated one).

I’ve already performed a clean uninstall using the AMD Cleanup Utility and reinstalled them from the official site using Adrenalin Software. While debugging the issue, I found that Windows might be overwriting driver versions with older ones, so I disabled that feature.

After reinstalling the drivers, I tested other demanding games like Far Cry 6 while monitoring my system with HWiNFO, and everything worked perfectly. However, the moment I decided to jump back into a Battlefield 6 match, the issue returned. I tried entering the Firing Range first and noticed the game ran at optimal parameters. But immediately after leaving the Firing Range, the game froze again, behaving exactly like the first time.

I checked the Event Viewer logs, but I don't see any entries regarding the crash. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem and could help me out.

  • Uploading the latest DxDiag from my pc. I have tweaked every thing i can possibly tweak. igpu disabled only using dgpu, run as admin on steam and anticheat javelin. force dx11 instead of 12. lowered my refresh rates, undervolted gpu lowered all gfx settings to low. I cant get through a single match. My pc crashes in 5 min of GP. It keeps crashing to black screen and on some of the crashes it is disabling my radeon 7800xt. i have to go into device manager to enable it then restart my pc. I hope this gets resolved soon. I didnt have this issue until season 3 update bug fix.

  • Hello everyone, after a long struggle with PC restarts, freezes, GPU driver crashes, today BF6 finally worked. My hardware is Ryzen 7900, GPU 9070XT, Win 10, Asus 670E Hero motherboard. First of all, download whql-amd-software-adrenalin-edition-25.9.1-win10-win11-sep-rdna. Uninstall the drivers with DDU (restarting is necessary) and install the ones I mentioned, but ONLY clean drivers. I know, I still have the fps limit set to 100 in BF6. I've disabled any power saving features on my PC and updated all the necessary things. But I don't think it matters that this driver is the key, because after uninstalling the old one, I installed this one and everything works. Good luck, I hope this helps.

  • ok, so i uninstalled the game entirely and reinstalled 3 hrs later....Im playing no crashing. So, i went into the game files and looked for the .exe file and in steam nor in my pc not present why? dont know. i noticed i had 5 javelin anticheat files present. why? who knows? i was curious if these could be the culprits at hand. it appears so. I deleted and cleared all caches on my pc and reinstalled. it works fine. I changed my igpu to disabled in my bios so windows couldnt change it if wanted to.  also, i went into settings, display, graphics and added battlefield 6 to my custom setting. it isnt added automatically so, manually add it. BareFox on youtube was able to help with that. he has a great video on how to add it. Once you add, set gpu performance to high and no more crashing. hope this fix works for you.

Ok, seemed to have located the issue, when redownloading game the amd adrenealine software automatically turned on imaging  sharpening and  turned it to 80. with in game settings it is conflicting. totally fixed by turning off in amd gaming then settings and turn off. I am new to all of this pc stuff and am still getting the hang of how to tweak things. hope this helps any newbies too!!
