Campaign opens windowed then crashes

multiplayer works fine but as soon as i start campaign it changes to a small window (even with fullscreen selected) changing between windowed, borderless and fullscreen does nothing, then it crashes and closes. 

all worked fine the first time i played done first 2 missions and now i cant get back into it to continue, i have tried redownloading, verifying files on steam and the restart mission option which i saw other people try on forums and still crashes
