Cannot Start Any RedSec Match – Black Screen & BF6 Logo

Hey everyone,

I’ve been running into a persistent issue with Battlefield 6 RedSec on Xbox and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced it.

Here’s what happens: when I select any RedSec game mode (for example, BR Duos) and hit “Start,” the screen first goes black, then shows the Battlefield 6 logo. Sometimes my character actually stands up like it’s supposed to when starting a match, but the menu reappears while he’s still standing there, and I can try to start a match again — but it just loops the same behavior. This happens in all RedSec modes I’ve tried so far, including Initiation Battle Royale with bots. No error code ever appears.

Here’s everything I’ve tried so far to fix it:

Restarted Xbox and router multiple times.

Fully reinstalled Battlefield 6 / RedSec.

Changed Xbox region.

Turned crossplay on/off

Used VPN (Germany, UK, Sweden) via mobile hotspot.

Unlinked and relinked my EA account.

Cleared local saved data and reserved space.

Checked for Xbox system and game updates.

Everything else in the game works fine — menus, settings, etc. It’s specifically starting a match that fails.

I’m starting to think it’s a server-side issue or something wrong with my EA account’s RedSec entitlement/session token, because nothing local seems to fix it.

Has anyone else seen this? Any workarounds that actually let you start a match? Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Yeah, it's horrid. I can't believe this didn't get patched at this latest update. So many people are complaining about this. Why even bother doing game updates, when people can't even play the game properly. Insane.

  • Update: Issue is not fixed, though when I join through the server browser on NA regions specifically, I do get in a match with bad ping, but playable. REDSEC does not work at all.

I'm really bummed about this as I have been waiting and saving up money for BF6. I have played REDSEC before and everything was working fine around 2-3 days after the release. After the 3-4th day, I couldn't get in it anymore. So I bought BF6 thinking that maybe the REDSEC servers and matchmaking are still laggy but the BF6 servers/matchmaking is more stable, but no sadly. Only the NA servers through server browser works, but the servers there are often heavily modified and feels very weird. Some games go very fast, some very slow. Plenty of bots aswell.

I guess I'll have to play on NA regions until EA grabs a hold of this, as this is really breaking my heart seeing a game this good be defeated by poor matchmaking.

I'm happy I can play the game atleast, that means alot to me already.

Try entering na servers as it worked for me. The ping is very bad and laggy, but it's playable. I don't know if its gonna help you Pablo, but I hope so.
