Crash Due to ExitType: 95 (253) & ExitType: 95 (271)

After about 45 hours of normal playtime, I am now unable to play BF6 (Steam) for longer than 15 minutes due to the following errors:

The following information was included with the event:

EAAntiCheatService
ExitType: 95 (271)

EAAntiCheatService
ExitType: 95 (253)

I've already tried safe boot to rule out 3rd party programs but the issue persists. I've attempted repairs & uninstall/reinstall of both EA Anticheat & BF6 itself but the issue persists. Please help me get back to playing this great game!

  • I'm having the exact same issue, same error codes, but I had to look in Event Viewer to find them as I simply crash to desktop with no error messages. I can only play for a short period (I never finish a match) and there's no warning, no freezing, etc. before it does. The game was working perfectly fine yesterday, but this morning this issue started and has persisted throughout the day. I've tried updating my video drivers, EA App, repairing the files via Steam (which always re-downloads the same 3 files), lowering the graphical settings, and restarting my computer. I do have OBS Studios and Game Bar on my PC, but I don't actively use them while gaming, so I don't think that's triggering the anticheat software. Please let me know if you have any luck fixing this problem on your end!

  • In case it's helpful at all, I was able to play a full match (~15 minutes) after doing the following:

    • Disabled XMP
    • Uninstalled then reinstalled BF6 (probably could've just done the anticheat software)
    • Added -bEnableGlimpse 0 launch parameter to Battlefield 6 in Steam
    • Turned off Exploit Settings in Windows for EAanticheatsoftwarelauncher and bf6 .exe programs
    • Ran Steam verification scan on all files
    • Limited FPS to 100 FPS in-game
    • Kept minimal graphical settings in NVIDIA app for BF6

I'll likely have an opportunity to test it for a longer period of time later this week. 🤞

All that being said, I did get the following error in Windows Event Viewer, but the game itself performed fine:

The description for Event ID 1 from source Application cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

    EAAntiCheatService
    Failed retrieving service path.

The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table

  • Is BF6, EA anticheat, EA app all installed on C: drive?

    If not then uninstall everything.

Reboot the computer to finish uninstalling EA anticheat kernel driver.

Then install everything on C: drive. There's a bug and EA anticheat will only look for files on C: drive.

Instruction from (external site) fixed issue for me:

    tl;dr:

    1. Go to "C:\Program Files\EA\AC"
    2. Run EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe
    3. Press Uninstall All
    4. Restart PC (mandatory!)
    5. Start the game - it will reinstall the anticheat.
    6. ...
    7. Problem solved.
