DXGI CRASH STILL NO INFO
We slowly need some information now. EA has been completely silent for days. I’m posting everything I’ve found here once again, in the hope that EA finally says something specific about it. It can’t be that I find posts on this topic in the FC forum that are 5 YEARS OLD and deal with exactly the same issue.
We’ve paid a total of €140 for BF just so we can’t play it together now, because the game simply won’t run on an RX 9060 XT. And yes, I’ve tried everything possible. It keeps crashing continuously because there is some error in the Frostbite Engine. Here are more details in case someone from EA would deign to communicate with us :)
The crash log clearly shows that the Frostbite DX12 renderer is at fault, not the GPU, driver, or user system. The exception 0x887A0005 (DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED) means the engine sent invalid DX12 commands, causing Windows to terminate the GPU context. The fault occurs in Engine.Render.Core2.PlatformPcDx12.retail.dll, Frostbite’s DX12 layer, confirming this is an engine-level bug. No user tweak (VSync, drivers, TDR edits) can fix it.
I am really slowly losing my patience. I even wrote to a DICE team member to get ANY information. I at least know that they are aware of the problem. But nothing more. It simply cannot be that thousands of people cannot play the game, we get NO information, NOTHING about it is in the patch notes?!?!?! And otherwise, every official response is based on the biggest corporate slang to say as much and at the same time absolutely nothing. EA_Shepard links to posts suggesting some pseudo fixes that are completely useless because it is the ENGINE that is causing the problems. I am not getting upset without reason here. This is a €70 game, and my girlfriend cannot play it on her absurdly expensive PC, which I built for her not even 2 weeks ago. It's simply ridiculous.
