Game feeling jittery

Dear Battlefield Technical Support Team,

I am writing to report a persistent performance issue in Battlefield 6 that significantly affects gameplay smoothness despite having a high frame rate (120+ FPS). The issue appears to be specifically related to mouse input, causing jittery frame pacing and stuttering that is not present in other games on my system.

Troubleshooting steps I have taken include:

  • Reinstalling Battlefield 6 and updating all GPU and chipset drivers.
  • Enabling SMT in BIOS and verifying CPU thread usage.
  • Disabling all overlays and background applications (EA app, Steam, Discord).
  • Testing different mouse polling rates and using a wired mouse.
  • Disabling mouse remapping software and using default Windows mouse drivers.
  • Adjusting in-game settings and network optimization.

Despite these efforts, the mouse input jitter remains, leading to an unsmooth gameplay experience unique to Battlefield 6.

Based on community reports and personal experience, this appears to be a known technical issue affecting mouse synchronization with the game engine and frame delivery.

I kindly request your team investigate this issue in detail and provide a fix or official workaround in a future update, as it severely impacts the quality of gameplay.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I appreciate your continuous work on improving Battlefield 6 and look forward to your response.

OY!!! Man, that thing! Whatever that thing is with BF6 has been driving me up the wall too!!

I searched on "BF6 jittery" and saw the first part of your post here near the top of the results and almost jumped out of my chair!

SH1ZA! What a PITA!  I have excellent frame rates as well. All other games on my system play/respond/feel or whatever, just fine. Better than fine. Perfect, in fact.

I'm playing on an Area 51 18 laptop with the 5090m and 275HX CPU and via an external monitor with a 3840x1600 resolution.

The problem is so damned odd because, like yourself, framerates are not even slightly a problem and it's just so weird and subtle but 100% not imagined. Oddly, on my 14900K/4090 desktop, playing at the same resolution, I don't see the issue at all.

I find it easiest to see/perceive when standing over some prominently highlighted array of objects on the ground, like small rocks all in a group that is largest enough for me to use the LEFT/RIGHT keys to simply strafe across from left to right. When doing this, focused on those small objects, the jitter is super apparent. Like it's jumping 1px or so as I traverse horizontally.

I've never considered some issue with the game and mouse input. And using the "isolation technique" I mention above, where no mouse input is active at all, the jittery is still massively apparent. It feels like what I'd imagine a game that is outputting a solid ~140fps would feel like if playing on a 30hz monitor.

I've tried FSR and this mitigates the jitter some, XeSS, DLAA with all in-game quality settings changed every which way and the jitter remains though it may be more or less with any given scenario.

I'm glad you put this out there. I'd suspect there should be more attention to your post by now but at least I saw it and am adding a similar comment on the issue.

I'm going to revisit playing the game on my desktop since I just realized I had been playing on that other machine earlier and then, when moving to my other desk where the laptop lives, as soon as the game started, I was like WHAAAAAA???  And frames were well over 150fps.  And even when adjusting things to where the game was more around 120fps, jitter was still there.

    Freakish.

I just played about 10 mins of Battlefield V and not only did it LOOK ten times better in general than Battlefield 6, it was buttery smooth as well.  As smooth of a 120fps+ as you can imagine.

So something is definitely messed up with BF6.

(And how can BF V look so much better in general?  My god, it's so RICH compared to BF6 which looks more like a supe'd up CS:GO kinda thing like when game devs intentionally generalize the textures and polygons so that any given title can be played well online. BFV makes BF6 look like a 20 year old game lol)
