Game won't start after the Season 4 update (Steam)

So i press "Play" in Steam library, the splash window shows up (checking for updates, launching anticheat etc) and then it just stops. It fully closes on its own.

Everything was just fine right before the update.

Tried everything. Verifying files, full uninstall and redownload, firewall/antivirus, tried older nvidia drivers and then tried the newest ones - still nothing, literally DOA for now and i want to play soooo much please send help.

Am I alone?

  • Hello. It appears that the process is being forcibly terminated (task-killed). Since everything was working fine before but issues have arisen following an update, here is something to check: Is the "Run as administrator" setting enabled?

    1. Right-click the Steam desktop shortcut, select "Properties," go to the "Compatibility" tab, and ensure that the "Run this program as an administrator" checkbox is completely unchecked.

2.Navigate to the app's installation folder, right-click on EADesktop.exe and EALaunchHelper.exe, go to Properties →Compatibility, and verify that the "Run this program as an administrator" checkbox is unchecked for both of them.

3.After matching the permissions, please launch Steam as usual and try starting Battlefield 6 from your library.

This sudden crash is likely caused by a recent EAAC (EA Anti-Cheat) update. The enhanced anti-cheat system strictly blocks the game if there is a mismatch in permissions between Steam and the EA App. Keeping both running with standard user permissions should resolve this deadlock.
