in-game chat issue

For several days now, every time I try to write in the chat, I can’t type anything because the whole screen seems to freeze. Only by clicking the left mouse button does it seem to unfreeze and allow me to continue playing, but I still can’t write anything in the chat.

Has anyone had the same issue? If I’m not mistaken, it’s a problem I’ve been experiencing since the last update.
