Match making in South Africa

Good day, please help with this.

(sorry for long post, trying to be thorough with suggestions)

I'm from South Africa and match making (non portal) games is extremely frustrating.  I believe this could be due to a smaller player base, big player count games & longer games of course (which I like btw).

One of two things happen... we squad up, click Conquest/Breakthrough, game loads for 5sec (EVERY time), and then:

  1. we either get into a new lobby with 1 other squad, rest fill up with bots
    OR
  2. we get into a half done game where the enemy team just steamrolls the lobby and in some instances spawn camps us

Every evening the frustration of searching, leaving, searching, 5min game before end... is making it a terrible experience and so many of my friends just don't play anymore.

I believe this could be a very similar issue in other lower populated areas.

Is it not possible to do something of the following:

    1.  On the main menu, put a 'active region player count' number on the tile of Conquest or watever game mode.  So that we can see where we can queue to match with fuller lobbies.  (please see attachment)
    2.  Every time we search, it only searches for 5sec.  This is great IF we would find a lobby for a new or fairly new game WITH MAJORITY PLAYERS.  But going back and forth between 80% done games, leaving, re-queueing, full bot games, re-queueing... is quite frustrating.  Server browser was a solution to this in the past titles, where we could queue and wait for a spot to open up.
    3.  We will even be happier with longer queue times (which in our country we are used to with many other live service games).
    4.  Have a minimum player count, say 4 full squads on each team, before slowing filling with bots.
    5.  When selecting Conquest for example, bring up official servers for battlefield we can select and queue into if no open spaces.  Have these servers persistent.  Add bots during off-peak hours if need be, but let the bots be replaced with active players as more people start to queue in.  You can even display player & bot count when selecting the server.
    6.  If the above is not made available on the main menu of the game, majority of the players wont even go into portal to do this.  This is a massive risk of losing the player base in Africa if all they can find are bot lobbies & half finished games for the 2 maybe 3 hours of play a few times a week.

It all just boils down to the server browser for us in lower populated regions.  We are fine with 2-3 servers of rotating match types, even different servers on different days.  Have portal yes, but give us official servers of a few game modes (ON THE MAIN MENU) so that we CAN PLAY WITH OTHER PLAYERS AND FRIENDS, not bots and almost finished games.

Please, it is so frustrating in Africa as a whole.  This is a fantastic title and wish to play for years to come, but this matchmaking is killing your game I promise you, especially in lower populated areas.

Kind Regards,
VanillaGZA

Yes south africa needs servers that does not end after each match. Just rotate through the maps like battlefield 1 use to have. We don't have the player base of the rest of the world but currently we have mutlple 1/4full Conquest servers that's filled with bots.

Please this needs to be looked at before the game dies out.

Two things, we NEED persistent servers or this game will basically be a cool paperweight in my steam library within 2 months. Another thing, I think they may have given us too many servers for our player base, so the matchmaking system is spreading our player base all over these servers which leads to it being this thinned out.

Completely agree! The player base will be more than enough if we can just get everyone together instead of split between portal and official and all the different modes. There are also quite a bit of the player base on the EU servers as they would rather sacrifice latency for a more consistent experience. So if we can fix this, these players can come back to their local player base. BF3 and BF4 proved that this is possible.

  • Hi everyone,  I completely agree,  I just bought BF6 yesterday and so far is has been rather difficult to actually get to play it. So far I have been finding games with alot of bots and after every match, the search for a new game starts again. I played BF 1 on the ps4 and it was working very well, in fact BF1 was my favorite online experience to date.

If we can have 3 or 4 SA servers,  all hosting a different game, like conquest, rush etc and rotating between different maps and we can see the player count, you can choose to join the one you want. This will solve the issue. Please can this be fixed.

For the price we paid for this game, it would be sad and frustrating to say the least if this becomes a game we cannot play.

I do agree with SA for a browser so we can choose where to play.. i also find it frustrating, need to do squad deathmatch and can find one game in a day, the reset is 5 players for 5 min then they leave, those do not even fill with bots.. please EA, help us , game was expensive.. het africa with great servers or browsers so everyone can join together, because sometimes we get full game of sa players, till that round is finished then it throughs everyone again in deferent server, then we get loaded with bots.. i have not even once played 2 games in a row with or against other sa players after each match.. keep everyone together please.
