When on the same internet connection, my wife and I both play pc on steam.
Ports are opened on the router for all normal steam ports.
When inviting her, she shows up in my lobby, shows at the lobby screen standing there, I hit find match, it pops up for her I started match making.
Our characters will stand up like were going in.
Then one of us one connect at all while the other gets in game.

Same issue. Some of us make it into the match others are stuck on the end of match screen. We have to leave and rejoin the match but can't touch the squad menu to rejoin friends as the game crashes.
