Reocurring Brief Freeze & Crash To Desktop

After 1-15 minutes of playtime, there's a 3-10 second freeze of the game (not entire system). In 75% or so of cases, the game after that simply crashes to desktop - no error message. In the remaining 25% it recovers and continues for a while, before it eventually repeats.

There does not seem to be a pattern as to when or where in the game this occurs.

Every time it happens, right after the crash, there's a log in Windows Logs > Application:

EAAntiCheatService
ExitType: 95 (267)

I'm happy to provide a full msinfo32 nfo file with all details on my system directly to EA, somehow, but haven't found a place to do so. Here are the most important specs:

  • AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • Nvidia 5080 (latest drivers as of writing)
  • Asus ProArt X670E-CREATOR Mainboard
  • Windows 11 (latest version as of writing)

I built this system a very short while ago, and my install is practically mint, with almost nothing except Steam and a bunch of games installed. I have not had any stability issues with games other than BF6.

Searched countless threads on the internet, found several people with the same symptoms, and tried a lot of troubleshooting tips already. Non-exhaustive list of things that had no effect:

  • Disable Windows Exploit Prevention for bf6 and EA anti-cheat executables
  • Disable XMP profile for my RAM
  • Completely reset in-game graphics settings
  • Reinstall NVIDIA driver
  • Verify integrity of game files via Steam
  • Reinstall EA Anti-Cheat

Frequently mentioned potential error sources that I DON'T have:

  • Any overclocks
  • Strange background services (I'm running PowerToys, Discord, Logitech G Hub, Steam... standard stuff)
  • Outdated BIOS (even if it were - there's really no reason it should be causing this)
  • VPNs or other non-standard networks (except Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter - but if this is somehow the problem i'd eat my hat).

Given this is making the game incredibly frustrating to play and I'm close to giving up on it entirely, I'd really appreciate an acknowledgment of the issue from EA, any further troubleshooting tips (although, as I said, i really already tried pretty much everything), and / or some info on whether a fix for this is in the works.

Thank you very much.

  • same issue with same error code i guess only fix is uninstalling :(

  • Started happening to me yesterday. I have already played for over 100 hours with no stability problems. I think the update from yesterday or the day before is negativley impacting some of us. The game is practically unplayable right now. I had steam check file integrity, and it did find some corrupted files. But fixing that did nothing, and reinstalling also did not fix my issues.
