Save data corrupted – unable to load (Steam Cloud)

I’m using machine translation, so I apologize if anything sounds unclear.

My save data, which I was playing with until about two days ago, has become corrupted.

I first contacted support via email but did not receive a response, so I then used live chat. I followed all the instructions provided, but the issue was not resolved and I was directed to post here.

Platform: Steam

Backup: Steam Cloud only (no backups on OneDrive or other services)

I receive the following message:

"Warning: The save data is corrupted and cannot be loaded. If you continue, the save data will be overwritten."

Because of this warning, I have not proceeded, as I am concerned about permanently losing my data.

It appears that the save data stored in the cloud is corrupted. I also tried the method suggested by support (renaming the PROFSAVE file to retrieve the latest version), but this did not help.

I requested a rollback to the save data from two days ago (before the corruption), but this has not been carried out.

At this point, I would like to know:

Is there any way to restore my previous save data?

1:Once you have backed up the save data:
Feel free to delete the save file data from Documents Battlefield6 folder.

2:Re-launch the game.(You will have to set up the games settings again after this.)

3:At this point you can also enable Steam Cloud again so a fresh & non corrupted save is synced 😎

The first reply to your post  here is just a precaution:
Your game progress for Multiplayer is stored on Battlefield server and won't be affected.

This may only affect settings and keybindings.

You're good to go friend with this! 😀

  • Hello friend!

Penguin thinks you should not press continue yet, because the warning means your save file may be overwritten permanently (Campaign progress is the only unclear thing over here?)

Achievements for Campaign 👉 100% stored on EA/Battlefield servers.

Multiplayer progress is secure and safe on Battlefield server and will not be affected.✅

Deleting the settings folder will not fix corrupted save data, only game configuration issues:

    Penguin suggest first:

    1 Make backup:

Check if any local save files still exist on your PC Documents 👉 Battlefield 6 Folder(Steam userdata folder)
Disable Steam Cloud temporarily to prevent it from overwriting
Make a backup of the save files before doing anything

If the cloud save is already corrupted, Steam by itself usually cannot roll back to older versions unless you have a local backup.

Penguin says your multiplayer progress is 100% safe, as the multiplayer progress, stats is saved on the Battlefield servers and cannot be overwritten by your local Save data, only settings like keybindings, graphics settings can risk getting overwritten.

    Many thanks!
