I am surprised the game is even playable with a 3700x and 3060 @1440 TBH
I had a 5800x and recently got a 7800x3d paired with my 9070xt which significantly changed my system performance.
I like you found Cairo, one of my favorite maps, to strain my system the most. I am running at 1440 and had my graphics set to custom that had low settings on CPU heavy tasks.
I would always show the CPU and GPU fps and found that when my CPU fps were getting in the 100s and 110s my game would looks laggy. I dont know what my 1% lows were but Im guessing they were less than half the average which was causing the game to look and feel like 50fps.
With my 7800x3d I run the game at ultra @1440 and its buttery smooth. I am on Win 10. I have a Win 11 build as well and that seems to preform significantly worse that Win 10 for some reason. The Win 11 is always choppy and its a system that has literally just Win 11, the EA app and BF6. Nothing else.
Nah its alright man! 3700x is doing me fine for now, 100 FPS frame cap, cpu settings fairly low but high graphics and 70-80 FPS dips on average, waiting for the re release of the 5800x3D to be fair, then i'll finally be GPU bottlenecked in battlefield which is big baller moves for me lol.
Not sure about windows personally, but try this - its helped me so far:
Create a txt document, label it user.cfg and delete TXT from the end (you might even have one already)
Then enter 'Thread.MaxProcessorCount 16' if youre 8 core 16 thread
The game seems to behave better using all available threads after the recent update. every other map is now back to being buttery except golmud, which sounds about right.
Also try turning HAGS off if you’re CPU limited or getting inconsistent frametimes/stutters — some people are getting smoother performance with it disabled. Genuinely so much better for me, tested 16, 8, and 0, but 16 and HAGS off was best. I also have ReBar disabled in Nvidia profile inspector for BF6 only.
This is the folder location, paste it in here once you make it just delete it if it doesnt work for you:
C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 6\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 6
Let me know! The main thing that helped was the user.cfg.
