Still Banned after Appeals Renewed and locked again.

I want to start this off by saying how incredibly frustrating this is for me. I've been banned since October for reasons that have never been disclosed to me. My only inkling of information given was "Gameplay Enhancements". From my understanding this can mean a few things but generally means you were cheating via external software or using exploits. To which I was doing neither. The only thing that I believe that could have been what flagged me is ReWASD, a program I used for keybindings in older games that had hardcoded keybinds or no native controller support or poor controller support.

I had originally appealed so many times that I had reached a limit and was blocked from submitting more. A few days ago I checked back in to see I could once again reappeal, so I started back again but once again hit the limit after 2 submissions.

I have countless email notifications with the full denial response from the Terms and Services team. All of them are a copy / pasted replies that basically say the same thing, "we reviewed your case and determind the ban was applied correctly" but no additional details ever given no matter how much I request them. No actual human conversion, nothing. Basically telling me "thanks for buying our game, now get lost."

It's a really unfair way to treat a long time paying customer of their games. Especially one that has never even received a warning in nearly 20 years. First time I'm ever flagged I get perma banned. No warning, no explanation, nothing.

At this point all I can do is be vocal about my treatment. I live in the US so I have no laws like the EU that can help me. I played just over the return window for Steam so they won't give me a refund either. I have followed all directions to try and contact the T&S department directly though email form but it dead ends where even EA's Advisers direct me to go. There is no way around a EA ban when it's wrongly given to you.

So what now? The only other corse of action I can think of is to begin a video series on my whole experience. Showcasing how no information is given, no true contact is made, how advisers are given false or outdated information on this matter that leads to dead end results and how the Terms and Services Team is uncooperative and impossible to reach as if by design.

I appreciate the reply and that even if there's nothing you can do you're at least willing to pass it on. It's something and even if it's a small gesture on your part it means something to me. I know this looks like a lot of drama over a $70 game, but for me it's the principle of the matter and it goes deeper than money. I was accused of cheating when I wasn't and then given no agency over my case. I'd be more willing to let this go if I could have a actual human interaction with someone capable of doing something. But continually receiving a cold mechanical inhuman pr coded message that's been copied and pasted hundreds of times feels soulless.

  • Hi there,

I can see why this has left you feeling worn down. At this point, I imagine you’re already very familiar with what we as Community Managers can and can’t say here. As you know, we’re not able to override the appeal process or assess what may have been detected.

While the ToS team may sometimes use standard wording in their replies for consistency, that should not be taken to mean the case was not reviewed again.

I do hear the strength of your feedback around the lack of detail and the difficulty of getting clearer answers, and what I can do from the forums is pass that feedback along.

    Thank you for your understanding.
