Timed out error Steam PC
I’ve been dealing with random “Timed Out / Session Inactivity / Server Disconnected” errors in Battlefield 6. It can happen five minutes into a match or not at all, and the strange part is that my connection never drops and every other player stays in the match after I’m kicked.
Here’s everything I’ve already tried. I’m on wired Ethernet, not Wi-Fi. My NAT is Open, UPnP is on, and I’ve forwarded all the correct Battlefield 6 ports (Steam version). I switched DNS to Cloudflare. I’m using an ASUS GT-AX6000 router with Game Boost, QoS, Game Acceleration, Traffic Analyzer, WMM APSD, Airtime Fairness, and Target Wake Time all disabled. My NAT Passthrough settings for RTSP, PPTP, L2TP, and IPSec are all enabled. Router firmware is up to date.
On the PC side, I lowered VRAM and graphics settings to Low and stayed well under VRAM limits. The CPU (i7-8700K) has been monitored and does occasionally spike to 100%. I tested High Performance power mode. I have no ASUS GameFirst or similar network-shaping software installed. I’m not using any third-party overlays, recording tools, or VPNs. I verified game files, performed a clean boot, and ran BF6 as admin. No anti-cheat conflicts were found. I’m using an Xbox controller on PC with the Steam version only (no EA app installed).
I’ve seen multiple posts from people having the same problem, but no confirmed fixes. I’m having a great time when the game actually works, but getting kicked from matches—whether it’s All-Out Warfare or the new Redsec mode—is exhausting.
Please help. Thanks.
