Any Plans To Support Linux Again?

A lot of the older Battlefield games support Linux, or have the capacity to run on Linux through WINE (native) or Proton (Steam).

1 year after Battlefield 2042's release, Linux stopped working on the new Battlefield games due to changes in the anti-cheat resulting in them not working anymore. Consumers who bought the game prior, when it did work, suddenly couldnt play the game anymore.

I was wondering DICE had plans to go back and support Linux again for Battlefield 2042 and the newer Battlefield Labs (that was just announced).

It's hard to say for definite, but I believe it would depend on whether EA added support to their anti-cheat or not. I'm not sure how much influence Dice would have on this really, but I imagine that feedback about it would be passed on by them to the relevant places.

I guess that all you can do really is keep an eye on official EA channels for info about anti-cheat changes.

I don't want to get in to the whole debate about how bad the anti cheat is designed but there is a way to make somewhat of a compromise and it won't cost a penny.
The smart move from EA would be to at least enable Linux only servers. Would sell more copies and and make the Linux/Steamdeck community happy for not being left out in the cold again.
I don't think Linux users will mind reporting cheaters the old fashioned way. There will be cheaters anyway and that goes for Windows users too.
