Wanted to see if people want standard character models for classes that you can’t customise like in battlefield games before bf5 or if people want customisable character models. Personally I’m not to bothered about customisation but if it’s in battlefield 6 I think it should be realistic like the customisation in insurgency sandstorm (assuming the game has a modern setting). Want do you think?
I have no issue with every solider on a team having the same or different outfits that are not based on classes.
I think we don't need class outfits to distinguish between classes it could be a piece of equipment like a rocket launcher tube for Anti-vehicle, med bag for Medic or bullet belt for Ammo carrier. DICE could even use different colour armband for each class.
As long as we can tell which team they're on. That's going to be tough unless uniforms have team colors.
I'm ambivalent mostly. On one hand I would be quite happy with being able to customise soldiers like in BFV, on the other I like how easy it is to distinguish between classes in BF1.
As long as they aren't wacky like prosthetic arms or cosplay or whatever I'm fine with being able to customise characters. If class recognition is a priority for them then they could ensure the model silhouette is standardised regardless of customisation.
See, I'd be fine with wacky robot arms and some magical girl cosplay pieces as long as they are team specific.
BF1 could be a little hard to distinguish players at times in hardcore mode (depending on the faction) but at least all the classes had their own designs and team colours.
In BFV, aside from maybe Ilse and Hannah, I have absutely no clue who belongs to what team and I consider myself a pretty good player; thr extra fraction of a second it can sometimes take to distinguish an enemy and class is enough to kill you.
@TTZ_DipsyI never got the angst over BFV's character models either, even the prosthetic arm which we never got.... 😭
I do agree however, that any customisation should still allow for easy faction distinction and class distinction would be preferable.

I want standard models like we had in previous games. Having everyone look different like they just raided a Goodwill drop box only confuses the game play especially when Hard Core is thrown into the mix with Friendly fire. it also makes IDing friend from foe harder even in core modes since military uniforms are supposed to allow soldiers to identify friend form foe by looking....uniform.
