I'm trying to imagine what could cause the laptop to suddenly start freezing after never having any issues with 300 hours of gameplay.
Perhaps there was a Windows update which updated the GPU driver or some other hardware driver? Although you said Battlefield is the only game affected so that seems unlikely.
Another possibility is there was an EA anticheat update for Battlefield which might be causing the issue. That would make more sense because it would only affect Battlefield. I don't know how to test this hypothesis.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling EA anticheat?
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the anticheat, repaired the folder, and updated the anticheat and it still freezes my laptop. I tried disabling my antivirus and allowed battlefield 1 through my firewall but that didn't help.
I tried looking for any windows or driver updates from May 2nd to May 3rd (May 3rd being the day this all started) and nothing was installed or updated.
I have no idea where I could find error codes for the anticheat besides the window event viewer (which showed nothing).
I don't own any other battlefield games so I don't know if its the anticheat or just battlefield 1.
I've pretty much run out of ideas that could fix this issue. If you have any other ideas, I'll try them tomorrow.
