BF1 fails to launch at all and always crashes (Error 0x186A1)

I have tried the following:

Reinstalling the game fully

Launching the game, anti-cheat and EA apps in administrator mode (and W8 compatibility mode)

Moving the EA app to the same drive as the game install

Moving the game installation from Steam to EA only

Installing all of the video files (I can't remember their name) individually.

Repairing the game and EA anti-cheat repeatedly.

Adding the game and anything to do with EA to Windows Defender exceptions.

    Issue is fixed. Installed the 32 and 64 bit files.

    That error usually points to a problem with the EA AntiCheat launch process rather than the game files themselves. Since you’ve already reinstalled the game and repaired AntiCheat

    Completely uninstall EA AntiCheat, reboot, then reinstall it from the Battlefield 1 installation folder.

    Make sure Secure Boot and TPM are enabled in BIOS if your Windows setup supports/requires them.

    Disable overlays temporarily (Discord, Steam, EA App, MSI Afterburner/RivaTuner, etc.).

    Update Windows and your GPU driver, preferably with a clean GPU-driver installation.

    Check Event Viewer → Windows Logs → Application/System immediately after the crash for an associated error.

    Try launching Battlefield 1 directly through the EA App rather than Steam.

    If it still gives 0x186A1, the Event Viewer error and your Windows/GPU details would be useful for narrowing down whether this is AntiCheat, a driver conflict, or another startup service.

    *First of all, try updating Windows Update.

    I had changed my Windows Insider version to Preview and ended up stuck on a build (26220.8764) without an updated certificate. So even when I clicked update, nothing appeared in Windows Update.

    When I reverted to the version I was using previously (Beta), I received the update to 26220.90222 and the EA AntiCheat service worked perfectly.

    Lesson learned:

    Leaving the Windows Insider program haha
