BF3 activation

I can’t get this game to load due to “ could not activate battlefield 3 on this computer”  I own a product key and have played on my account before so I’m unsure what the problem is. Why when you click product key does it say error no internet? 

I started looking online for a solution and the most popular one seemed to be moving or deleting the ea licence files within program data. I tried this a number of times including after restarting my computer and by running the ea app as administrator.  I tried this so many times but no success. 

I then tried to repair the game files and recover the ea app to see if that helped but no luck. Next I simply tried to reinstall the game and reinstall the ea app completely fresh but no luck. 

I tried launching straight through battle log but this didn’t work. 

I then came across someone who renamed their pc and this worked so I tried it with no success again.

someone else said just simply delete all the folders to do with ea basically and then try again but this didn’t work. 

I’ve spoken to a couple of people from the ea help service and while some did try their best it always seemed like they just wanted to end the chat and send me to a forum. By this time I’ve spent countless hours trying to fix it and getting pretty frustrated that there was no solution. I’ve then been told that there’s nothing more that can be done … so that’s it?  I’m left with a game that doesn’t work? 

I figured I would try and contact ea help regarding my account instead to see if they could maybe reactivate my product key to my account to see if it would potentially fix the issue however apparently they are unable to do that. I’m unsure why as I already have the code and someone had already checked my code/account for the game. 

I’ve now been told to go to the retailer where I bought it from even though as far as I can tell this is completely an EA issue not anybody else’s. 

From my view I’ve paid for a game that I own the product key for but the product is no longer fit for purpose as it doesn’t work due to an issue which is completely out of my hands and there’s no longer any attempt to resolve it. I shouldn’t be made to feel as if I should have to purchase the game again in the hope that it fixes it. 

I am aware that this seems to be a common issue however my case seems to be different as everyone else has managed to get theirs fixed. Has anyone else had the same issue as me? Do I have any other options?

I genuinely believe that more people would be playing this absolute classic from my childhood if this issue was resolved.
