Games Opening Cant Click to continue.
Hey folks,
I’ve been facing a weird issue while trying to play some older EA games on my system. Specifically titles like Battlefield 1, Star Wars Battlefront (2015), and Need for Speed (2015) — all of them launch fine and run without crashing, but I can’t interact with the game at all. No input is registered — can’t press buttons, move the mouse in menus, etc. The game isn’t frozen though — animations, background videos, and music keep playing.
Here are my specs:
Intel i3 10th Gen
8GB RAM
SSD
Running on integrated graphics
Windows 11
Games are purchased via Steam, and run through the EA App
What’s strange is that this only happens with EA games from around 2015–2017. Newer games and games from other publishers seem to work fine. I suspect it has something to do with fullscreen optimizations or how Windows 11 handles legacy fullscreen/windowed modes, especially since the games launch in borderless fullscreen by default.
Also worth noting: I’ve seen similar setups (same CPU and specs) running these games without issues — so it’s likely something software-related on my end.
Has anyone faced this or found a workaround? I’ve tried compatibility mode, disabling fullscreen optimizations, admin mode, etc., but no luck so far.
Appreciate any help!
