Issue with Game License Not Detected in New EA App

 

I am encountering an issue with the new EA Desktop app, where the games I purchased previously through the Origin app do not have their licenses detected. Although the games show as purchased in my library, when attempting to launch any game, I receive the following error message: 

“Game license is invalid.”

 I have already tried several troubleshooting steps suggested by EA online support, such as launching the game in online mode and clearing the cache, but the problem persists. It seems that the issue is related to the game licenses not being detected in the new EA app, even though they were purchased through Origin. Together with the EA online help support agent, we attempted to find the license files with the .dlf extension, but no such files were found on my computer. From what I understand, this suggests that most likely, I will face this issue with all of my games previously purchased via Origin. I would greatly appreciate any assistance or further steps to resolve this issue.

  • Hello THUNDER_Latvia​,

    You should try talking with EA support again since the issue is related to your account (game ownership). Nobody else can assist you on the forum with the mentioned issue.

  • Silly question but what about just reinstalling the game? If you still have the games in your library then on EA's end they know you own it so if we reinstall perhaps itll properly create and store the license file needed. 

    Only ask cause you hadnt mentioned that idea specifically, so hey worth a shot ya never know.

    I contacted EA support and they directly advised me to post this problem on the forum so that more people from EA would be involved in solving this problem. I also noticed today that there are games in the purchase history that don't appear at all, but are in the library with the purchased ones.

    Of course, I tried both reinstalling the game and repairing it. As well as reinstalling the EA app. Now we are trying to solve this problem through EA.

    Fair enough just had to make sure we weren't skipping a step accidentally. Yeah hopefully support folks can get you sorted and this whole thing figured out.

    They say this every time the issue occurs. I believe you should try starting a different chat with support again.

    I've already spoken to various support staff about four times, but so far no one can solve anything.
