Unable to play bf3 on xbox live...

Hey guys,

I have got a very strange problem with my xbox 360 Arcade (256 MB)!

I just can't play bf3 online and I simply don't get where the problem is.

All the other games work proper online, also other products of EA don't make any problems (eg. FIFA 11).

Everytime when I'm on the xbox menu I'm connected to xbox live.

Then, starting BF3 Multlayer Disc, my xbox automatically disconnects from xbox live (without offering any updates or something).

When I'm in the menu of the game, it congratulates me for successfully activating my online account, but I'm still disconnected from xbox live. When I now try to sign up on xbox live it says, that it couldn't connect to xbox live.

Then I always start the connection test to look for the problem but as soon as I want to start the test, the xbox automatically goes online. Even when I do the connection test my xbox gets a good connection and can't find any problems.

Beforehand I also had some NAT-problems but I could fix them with opening all the ports that bf3 requests.

I nearly tried everything to get access to the bf3 multiplayer!

I also bought a 60 GB HDD to install the HD Pack because I thought that this might be necessary for playing online.

I also installed bf3 itself on my xbox but it wouldn't work (btw: bf3 campaign Disc worked flawlessly, without any problems).

And I also emptied my System-cache but this didn't solve my problem, too.

Also my network and the multiplayer Disc don't seem to be the problem, because I was able to play bf3 online with my disc on my friends xbox at my home (I'm playing over LAN). So I come to the conclusion that my xbox might be the problem.

Might my xbox arcade be too old to play bf3 online?

I'm really desperating because the best Multiplayer-game I have won't work online...

You guys are my last hope, microsoft and ea support couldn't help me at all.

May I need to buy a new xbox?!?!

Regards , Chris

P.S.: I'm sorry for my incorrect English (it's not my mother tongue).   😉

  • Hi xxchrisxx0705!

In order to play multiplayer on Battlefield 3 you need to install/download all multiplayer updates from the in-game menu store or on Xbox LIVE market place. You need at least 13 GB free on your hard drive.

    - With kind regards, Timmie.

    Hey

I downloaded/updated everything that belongs to Battlefield 3 but it still doesn't work... ☹️

I have got the same problems as before (the game automatically disconnects from xbox live not allowing me to visit the ingame store/ play online. When I go to the xbox menu again I'm automatically connected to xbox live again and I can play other games online without any problems)

I have downloaded all updates in order to play bf3 online from the xbox marketplace (because I was offline when I was in the game, so I couldn't download the updates from the ingame store)

I have downloaded and installed all available updates, including:

    I downloaded:
Bf 3 HD Content                 (1,5 gb)
Battlefield 3 title update      (201 mb)
    Battlefield 3-Update            (2,1 gb)
    Multiplayer update 3           (2,4 gb)
           "                 "    4           (1,5 gb)
           "                 "    5           (1,8 gb)
    Online pass                         (56 kb)
    Rent a server/E-Sports-update    (1,1 gb)

    and I Installed: bf3 disk 1      (7,3 gb)

So all in all 17,6 gb of memory.

I'm totally desperating, don't know what else I could do in order to play bf 3 online.
Could it be that I forgot to download an important update?

    Greetings, Chris

...... I feel your pain, i have the same problem, been dying to play this online and now i cant... I mean WTF, such a disappointment......

  • OMG I had the same problem and I fixed it! Go into your system settings and into the storage menu. Delete the cache on your main HDD and restart the game. For some reason, my game installed a new update and when I cleared the cache, it didn't reinstall it, leading me to believe that for some reason, it was a faulty or accidental update.

It won't let me play, all it say is "Failed to connect to EA Online. Please try again." So I try again over and over and over and it never works. PLEASE help me.

    Please help me,

    Aidan

P.S Can you update the lag for online multiplayer? So there is no more spawn deaths.

Try starting another ea game like cod and sign in it'll ask you to register your account and once you do and you get to the game menu press the home button and select battlefield and go into the game and it should work, it's what I did and it worked
