"Your request could not be processed. We're unable to verify this credit card"

Some expert advice is required here, thank you.
I am actively attempting to purchase the game Battlefield 4, now during its 50% sale.
My son informed me of the sale and we agreed that I shall purchase it for him as reward for recent progress in school, however I can't.
The error message listed as subject is what I get whenever I try to complete a purchase.
"Your request could not be processed. We're unable to verify this credit card"
I have tried to complete the purchase from within Origin's client, from Origin's Web-page as well as on the Battlefield site.
I have checked my account balance to confirm that I have the funds.
I have contacted my bank and they acknowledged that everything is working fine.
I made several other online purchases in order to rule out any issue with my card.
I have tried three different browsers, Firefox, Chrome and I.E.
I have attempted to purchase other things from the Origin store, same error regardless of product.
I have attempted various "fixes", proposed by EA Staff, such as tampering with Java, try to add payment information prior to adding a product to my cart, etc etc etc.
I have also tried to complete the purchase with four other cards, but nothing works!
In addition, I've waited for "Live Chat" for one hour, when the states waiting time is under 5 min.
We're both incredibly disappointed with Origin as a service and this is not the first time we've had major issues with it.
If nothing is done soon, we are ready to turn else where with our money and loyalty and part from Origin for good.
