Re: Battlefield V won’t start on Xbox one

@seanmaher17

Try going to My Games & Apps>Highlight BFV>Press Start>Manage Game>Go delete the local and cloud game saved data. Power cycle your Xbox One and then try loading it up again.

How to power cycle your Xbox console:

  1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button  on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
  2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

  1. Plug the console power cable back in.
  2. Press the Xbox button  on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

Are you able to share your game to another Gamertag on your console to see if that account is able to get past the menu? This way we can see if it's account based?

Have you tried reinstalling or tried rebooting your network?

There isn't another gamertag associated with this xbox, and reinstalling and rebooting the network were the first things I tried before looking online for ideas.

Ok so I created a new gamertag and the game works with that. I then deleted my original gamertag and re-added it and launched the game. Same problem as before, so it has to be an account issue beyond a corrupt file

Try going to Help.EA.com and make sure you're logged out.

    1. Select Log in at the top
    2. Use your Microsoft credentials to login to your account using the Microsoft option
    3. Once you're signed in, reboot your Xbox and try signing into the game

Do you have one of your other controllers assigned to that Gamertag? If you have two controllers can you try turning on the other one and/or check what controllers are assigned to your Gamertags on the console.

I have the same issue and tried all the trouble shooting tips and still nothing. On hold for over an hour with live support and no one will pick up. I am so frustrated I paid all this money for the game that will  Not work as advertised, deleted the game and re installed it and still nothing which means I missed out on an entire week of the tises if war event and will not be able to unlock the BAR. I want my money back for false advertising

@SpcReaper433 Feeling the same way. I pay to play not code or troubleshoot. Was working before update, albeit without full game capabilities. If i bought a car and this happened there would be a recall or recourse. They got my cash and i got trash.
  • @Ausfed All they keep telling me is that it's a knkwb issue and they are working on it and wont give me any other updates at al

Having exactly same issue, done all suggested fix’s and still not working. Two months on & you’d think EA would have an answer.

I've done the first two steps but it just doesn't load.
I select a to play as my account and i start to load but it kicks me out of the game before i get to the main menu.

I’ve been having the same issue for three months now. They’re not going to fix it, they’re just going to do what they’ve done for BFV all throughout the rest of its lifecycle and just leave it broken or say it’s “coming soon.”

  • I reinstalled Battlefield to play the new update today and am having this proble. Ive unplugged xbox, changed dns, reset mac address, cleared cache and local storage and still nothing works, I dont want to have to reinstall it again becasue it is 80gb and my internet isnt the best

    Hi @ZACHATTACK0720

Try doing hard reset of your console:

    1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

Also, highlight Battlefield V on the Home Screen, go to Manage Game, and make sure everything is up to date.

    Thanks

Actually there is another possibility.  I finally noticed it always getting “quick resume.”

FINALLY…simply had to turn off quick resume in my instance and everything loads nicely right after.

Willl see what happens later if I turn on QUICK RESUME later..
