Problems in Dynasty mode

Since I haven't seen many in-depth bug reports or issues people have had with dynasty mode I have decided to take it upon myself just based on what I have witnessed.

  1. Sim Stats I've heard some people say that simulated games are set to 12-minute quarters which in my opinion doesn't make sense if it is true. The games being simulated need to reflect the settings that we set up. It shouldn't be possible to average 150 plays per game when playing the CPU and when games are simulated it only be about 100-110. But this in my opinion creates the biggest problem regarding stats because they are often too low especially when it comes to rushing yards. Many people complain there are too few 1000-yard rushers which is true and I've witnessed many teams average less than 20 rushes per game which not a single team did during the previous college season. But to compare some stats from a season I just played to the 2023-2024 season:
    1. In my dynasty, there were 6 teams that averaged under 200 passing yards per game. Last year in the 2023-2024 season there were 40 teams that didn't pass for over 200 yards per game. A difference of 36 teams.
    2. Also in my dynasty, there were 63 teams that were not able to rush over 100 yards per game. Last year in the 2023-2024 season there were 14 teams that were not able to rush for over 100 yards per game. A difference of 49 teams.
    3. My dynasty also had no teams with over 200 yards rushing per game while last year in the 2023-2024 season there were 12 teams.
    4. My dynasty had 29 teams with over 400 yards of total offense per game and only 3 teams with below 300 yards of total offense per game. The 2023-2023 season had 45 teams with over 400 yards of total offense per game and 11 teams with under 300 yards of total offense. So 16 more teams had over 400 yards per game and 8 more teams had under 300 yards per game in 2023-2024 than my dynasty did.                                                                                                                                                                                                              I also understand that this data would be better presented with averages over multiple seasons in both dynasty and actual college football but I have seen others do that and they come to the same results that teams are not running enough plays and that generally, teams pass at a higher percentage than what reflects real life percentages. So it is easy to see that either users need to be given more control over how simulated games perform or the simulated stats at the very least should better reflect the time settings that the user set. And if either of those are not an option the default should be that they reflect realistic stats for a 15 min quarter game.
  2. End of year Awards and All-Americans
    • The impact of being ranked when it comes to awards, especially being ranked #1 in the country, is way too high. At the end of every season, there is a player in the Heisman finalist if not two from the #1 team in the country even though their stats do not reflect a Heisman candidate's stats. For example, in my dynasty, there was a quarterback from USC who had 4,164 passing yards(leading), 45 passing tds (leading), and a 177.2 rating(6th). While there was a Georgia quarterback who had 3,293 passing yards(24th), 39 passing tds(6th), and a 175.2 rating(8th). Georgia was ranked #1 and USC was ranked 13th. The Georgia quarterback got 2nd and the USC quarterback wasn't even a Heisman finalist. This is completely unrealistic. I think many would agree that conferences have a major impact and being ranked is a requirement to win the Heisman. But the logic that is currently implemented just doesn't make sense, and this isn't just for the Heisman. In my opinion, the worst award is the best defensive back. In the same dynasty as I mentioned above Georgia placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th in the best defensive back award. Along with this, a defensive lineman for Georgia placed 5th in best defensive player behind 3 other defensive linemen and yet the same Georgia defensive lineman won the Lombardi Award for the best Defensive Lineman of the year. The logic just doesn't make sense and I believe that it was caused by there being too much of an impact from being the #1 team in the country.
    • Although I understand that the game doesn't have a lot of good stats to go by for offensive linemen, both the interior offensive lineman award and the best center award are both unrealistic. In this same dynasty, an offensive lineman won both awards with only 7 games played. There should be a requirement of at least 11 games played and some requirement for downs played as the only statistics that the game can go off for offensive linemen are downs played, games played, sacks allowed, and team passing and rushing stats.
    • Whenever I looked at All-Americans it was hard to tell mistakes other than Heisman finalists not being awarded All-American. But I think this is more reflective of Heisman finalists being incorrectly weighted due to rank rather than there being an issue with All-American awards
  3.  Miscellaneous
    • You just can't see the progress on the recruiting bar for Appalachian State. Even when getting extremely close to my tv I can't see a color difference.
    • The ticker sometimes gets stuck during games when the announcers try and tell you about another game that is taking place. It often will show one of the teams and nothing else. It does eventually resolve but it often gets very annoying. This happens at least once per game.
    • The injury frequency while playing vs simulated games is extremely different. I turned my slider all the way up to 80 and was still rarely getting injuries while playing. Yet if I ever simulated the game it would be guaranteed that I would have at least 4 new injuries.
    • Wear and tear feels very out of place now. I thought that the system was essentially going to be a minor injury system and I now don't see much of an impact from it anymore. I thought that the wear and tear system was supposed to replicate minor bruises and injuries that normally wouldn't cause a doctor to sideline a player but would impact a player's ability and you would then have to manage their health throughout the season. Such as a player maybe hurting their hamstring but not to the point of a trainer forbidding them from playing and this injury lingering for the rest of the season if the player continues to play or if you choose to rest them maybe it will go away near the end of the regular season. But if you risked playing them its possible that the minor injury could turn into a major injury. But wear and tear seems to go away so quickly, and rarely do any players outside of quarterbacks and running backs ever enter games with any wear and tear.

I would greatly appreciate feedback from other users and game devs. I may edit this depending if I can gain enough recognition.

  • I don't understand why awards won't show, why a team that has a 95 RB and a running coach only has 37 yards rushing in 5 games and only 780 total all year! What happened to this game!
