Unable to adjust depth chart in dynasty

I’m in dynasty mode and recruited some solid freshman.  When I try to move them up the depth chart , the change spots but it DOEST show on the field?  Anyone else?  I did this in the middle of the first game. Didn’t work. I did it at the hub before second game. Didn’t work.
