Dynasty & RTG Customization Needs a Major Upgrade for Long-Term Immersion

I’m posting this as someone who has put 800+ hours into EA Sports College Football 25.

This isn’t a hate post. This is a retention post.

The gameplay foundation is solid. But the reason many of us are burning out isn’t difficulty — it’s repetition and lack of visual individuality.

Here’s the core issue

 Body Types Don’t Reflect Weight

A 6’2 230 LB should not look the same as a 6’2 285 DL.

Right now:

  • Weight barely changes visual mass
  • Most builds feel like template reskins
  • Recruits start blending together by Year 3

We need:

  • True body archetypes (lean, stocky, heavy mass, long frame, power build)
  • Weight-based scaling that changes shoulders, legs, trunk, and neck size
  • Position-based mass distribution (240 RB ≠ 240 OLB visually)

Immersion dies when everyone looks like the same mannequin.

 Equipment Customization Is Too Limited

For a sport built on identity and swagger, customization is shallow.

We need:

  • Single leg sleeves
  • More unique player customization
  • Undershirt length variations
  • More body sleeve layering
  • Expanded helmet/facemask options
  • More glove variety
  • Body-type variation tied to gear fit

Even RTG feels repetitive because you’re stuck wearing the same gear with limited uniqueness.

 Create-a-Recruit (Dynasty Only)

Not rating editing.

Just:

  • Custom appearance
  • Custom body type
  • Gear freedom
  • Hometown & archetype choice

Attachment keeps players invested. When you create someone, you care more.

Why This Matters

This isn’t about being flashy.

It’s about retention.

When every player starts looking the same, dynasty turns into spreadsheet mode. Visual diversity creates storylines before the snap.

If long-term engagement matters to EA Sports, deeper customization is a must.

Gameplay polish is important.

But immersion is what keeps us playing past Year 4.

Respectfully — this game has the foundation.

Now it needs personality.
