School Grades and Deal Breakers Need Overhaul
I started a dynasty with the Purdue Boilermakers and have started the year 4-0 with a 1-point win over 25th ranked USC and a thrilling 6-point win over 15th ranked Notre Dame.
However, my brand exposure has gone from B+ to C+ in this time. That's simply one small example of many on how these grades absolutely were not given any thought and thus have an insanely hard impact on recruiting and the transfer portal.
Beyond fixing these school grades, here's an idea on how to fix deal breakers. For your current players, deal breakers should change with major upset victories, a fast start to the season (i.e. this 4-0 start when I was expected on my coach contract to win 4 games to keep my job safe), or something more related to a real-life scenario.
For instance, say I have a freshman or sophomore wide receiver who's tearing it up with a senior QB. A much cooler deal breaker would pop up midseason or at the end of the year, where that wide receiver triggers a prompt that says "hey coach, what a season! I'd love to stay, but we have to do something with (insert name of senior QB) graduating."
The next pop up is his deal breaker that says "Recruit a Top 100 QB or a obtain a 4-star or above transfer QB". If you do either, the wide receiver's deal break prevents him from thinking of transferring and because you made good on your promise, it improves your coaches prestige grade (or something else) and builds more equity in that wide receiver who now really won't ever want to transfer.
Currently, the game is a little too overboard with the amount of transfers due to the broken system of school grades that don't provide any clarity on how to truly improve the grade.
EA College, this game could be much more fun if the deal breakers felt more alive to where your coach, season success (or signature wins) made your team feel more together and want to stick around and build on what you're investing time into.
