EA Developers
Dear EA Sports College Football Development Team,
I am a devoted fan of College Football 26, and I spend most of my time in Dynasty mode. After running multiple 32-man Dynasties with my community, I wanted to provide feedback and offer suggestions that could improve the overall gameplay experience and enhance Dynasty’s long-term immersion.
- Playing Style “Deal Breaker”
The Playing Style deal breaker feature appears to be broken. Despite multiple attempts to use it in recruiting, it has little to no impact and does not function as intended.
- Transfer Portal Logic
We’ve noticed unrealistic scenarios in Dynasty where top recruits, such as Arch Manning and DJ Lagway, commit to the same school simultaneously. The algorithm should prevent situations where multiple five-star quarterbacks commit to one program in the same cycle, as this is not realistic.
- Recruiting Enhancement – Coach’s Promise
A new feature worth considering is “Coach’s Promise.” Coaches could make commitments such as:
- Promising a player they will start immediately.
- Guaranteeing a starting role by Year 2.
- Committing to a set percentage of snaps.
If fulfilled, this would build player trust and improve recruiting. If broken, it should negatively affect player morale, transfer likelihood, and a coach’s recruiting reputation. This would add strategic depth and realism to Dynasty recruiting battles.
- Playing Time Logic
Currently, playing time complaints are inconsistent with snap counts and depth chart positions. For instance, a player rated 80 overall may complain despite starting over a 77 overall. Playing time should be tied directly to snap count percentages and depth chart placement, not just OVR ratings. This could also connect naturally with a Coach’s Promise system.
- Gameplay Balance – Stunts and Texas Four-Man
Stunts and Texas four-man fronts are currently overpowered. While stunts should be effective in pass rushing, they should also be more vulnerable to the run. Every scheme should carry both strengths and weaknesses, and stunts should be punished by inside and outside runs when overused.
- Offensive Line Adjustments
Line adjustment mechanics (base, slide protections, half-slide) feel sluggish or unresponsive. This makes countering certain blitz-heavy defenses difficult and unrealistic. Improving the responsiveness of OL targeting would strengthen gameplay balance.
- Untarget Feature (Pass Protection)
The untarget feature is a strong addition but feels too limited for the away team. While crowd noise should affect WR routes, offensive line protection calls should remain reliable. A compromise might be requiring the QB to walk to the line of scrimmage and take additional time off the play clock to make the adjustment rather than losing the ability entirely.
Conclusion
I want to thank you for bringing college football back to the gaming community. As a long-time fan, I truly enjoy College Football 26 and believe that refining these features could elevate the Dynasty experience to an even higher level. I would welcome the opportunity to provide additional feedback or participate in future testing.
