Serious concerns about Road to Glory High School mode

Dear EA Sports team,

As a long-time fan of college football video games, I was incredibly excited for the return of College Football 26. However, I’m genuinely disappointed by the way Road to Glory has been implemented – especially the high school portion.

The decision to reduce high school games to short “moments” instead of allowing us to play full games feels like a huge step backward. It removes all immersion, limits player development, and frankly makes the entire pre-college experience feel hollow and rushed.

It honestly seems like EA has ignored years of community feedback. We’ve waited over a decade for this game to return – was it really too much to expect the most basic parts of career mode (like full games) to be playable?

Right now, Road to Glory feels like a stripped-down, on-rails experience with little freedom or depth. Many of us play offline, and we want the full, classic experience back – with full high school seasons, deeper customization, and meaningful progression.

Please take this feedback seriously. We’re not just “moments” players. We want to live the journey – not skip through it.

Sincerely,

A disappointed but hopeful fan

PS: I don’t want to wait for cfb27 with this🙃

No sir, they will never do that. They willing to go look for some EA shill they paid to applaud the game than actually fix the problems in the game.

  • Can i get just 1 f-ing reply or react from the glorious developer team?😅😅

  • Three things, first off this is based of playing the game with a buddy who bought it. We found not only was this a **bleep** up for high school but they basically screwed the game up, and some of the blame should be at UT.

Second, the high school was all hyped and yes its sucks. 4 out of 5 moments in 5 games is not what people wanted for the mode. Some of the moments made no sense for the player and plays, but some of them moments we were robbed over. Db was one moment to tackle for a loss, and i did it with another team player finishing the tackle with me...I hit first, and play done; didn't get the check, got told failed moment. This is not what people wanted in this game. Once cheap high school is done, college part was made way too much harder, with broken logic of the coaches and how the mode played out.

So third, college time. My buddy and I choose 1 or 2 star schools to play with, first year it was Kent State. Both of us road the bench the first year, while near the end of the year having the coach being angry we were not doing enough but were 3 string players.. Second year was more the same. rode the bench, struggling to earn enough to move up, and struggling with the gpa which seemed to disappear over the weeks despite at times putting all my points into studying. Near the end of the second season, played one quarter, lead the winning td, second game was the 4th quarter, lead from behind to a win in overtime. Yet was benched again, while being told I basically had to get my head straight as the coach was angry for failing again. WTF. I transfered to Temple with offer for starter, yet sat the bench for the first 8 games. Confused since my points and trust was double of the starting QB....before I got to play one game...400 4 TD, 2 sacks, ran for 49 yards. Lost the job again, and dropped to 3rd string...again WTF. Didn't play senior, left the game behind. My buddy has similar issues with different positions, which made it frustrating to enjoy the mode. Worse was the logic of the coaching, to the level of how little you get for so much work only to struggle playing the game. We flipped it with picking other school when we could like Florida and Utah...Texas AM...but still similar outcomes. Its strange to built this mode up so much and have it fail so bad. I was hyped about this mode, glad I didn't buy the game.

Ps. the team working on this mode said this was part of a several stages process of the mode, and that was always the plan...to build up instead of just having the full mode out. It makes me wonder if we might have to wait 2 to 3 more years to get the mode that was part of the 12-14 games...I comment on them about why those games did some much better for an older system and why its a struggle to match that or make it better. Only responds form EA forum was its part of the process. Don't waste your time on this mode, let alone this game. Its still broken, still a mess, and might just take 3 years to be as good as classics.

  • Complete step backwards. Stats do not matter nor do game doesn't matter if you win or lose.  Nobody asked for the tape score feature or the twisted rating part. 5 star people dropping to 2 star after few games.  Apparently, recruiters want to see you do a 5 yard option run? Juke an opponent? hit a 50 yard pass?  Tone deaf company with horrible development skills. Wait CFB 27? Try - NOT buying it. Its going to be the same old rehash. Especially if they are using their broken frostbite engine.

  • Agreed, have you tried to play as RB? You are reliant on the AI QB for some achievements but all he does is take huge sacks. This whole mode is really bad!!! Just throw some P.O.S. Game out there and charge everyone more than you should. If they can’t launch a decent game than don’t charge full price.
