Signed Transfer Disappears to another team
Platform: PlayStation 5
Game Mode: Dynasty Mode – 16-Team User Online Dynasty
Team: Eastern Michigan
Affected Player: Peyton Lewis – HB
Roster Size at Time of Bug: 56/85
Bug Description
I signed Transfer Portal HB Peyton Lewis to Eastern Michigan for $0 NIL during the offseason.
Lewis officially signed with Eastern Michigan and remained on my roster throughout the offseason. Most importantly, he was still on my roster during the Player Progression stage, where I was able to manually allocate his player upgrade points.
However, immediately after advancing from Player Progression into the regular season, Peyton Lewis completely disappeared from my Eastern Michigan roster.
There was no Transfer Portal notification, dealbreaker warning, roster-cut notification, or other message indicating that Lewis was leaving the program.
After noticing he was missing, I searched other teams and discovered that Peyton Lewis had somehow been automatically placed on Bowling Green’s roster, where he is now an 88 OVR senior HB.
Bowling Green is also a conference opponent, making this especially problematic in a 16-user competitive Online Dynasty.
Steps / Timeline
- Recruited Peyton Lewis from the Transfer Portal.
- Peyton Lewis officially SIGNED with Eastern Michigan.
- He remained on Eastern Michigan’s roster through the offseason.
- Eastern Michigan had only 56 of 85 roster spots filled, so this was not caused by exceeding the roster limit.
- Peyton Lewis was still present during Player Progression.
- I manually allocated upgrade points to Lewis during Player Progression.
- Advanced the dynasty from Player Progression into the regular season.
- Peyton Lewis disappeared from Eastern Michigan’s roster.
- No notification or warning was provided explaining his departure.
- I checked other rosters and found Lewis on Bowling Green, now rated 88 OVR.
- Eastern Michigan was consequently left with only two running backs instead of the three I constructed the roster to have.
Player Pitch / Dealbreaker Information
Peyton Lewis’s Playing Time pitch was A+ when he signed with Eastern Michigan.
Because Eastern Michigan was well below the 85-player roster limit and Lewis had a strong Playing Time grade, there does not appear to be a legitimate roster-management reason for him to have been automatically removed.
If some type of hidden dealbreaker or roster/progression calculation is occurring during the transition from Player Progression into the regular season, it may be incorrectly removing signed Transfer Portal players and assigning them to other teams.
Expected Result
Peyton Lewis should have remained securely on Eastern Michigan’s roster after advancing into the regular season.
If a dealbreaker was somehow triggered, the player should have formally entered the Transfer Portal with a clear notification to the user rather than disappearing and automatically appearing on another team’s roster.
Actual Result
Peyton Lewis disappeared from Eastern Michigan immediately after advancing into the regular season and was automatically placed on Bowling Green’s roster without any notification or user action.
Competitive Impact
This has significantly affected our Online Dynasty.
Eastern Michigan now has only two running backs on the roster instead of three. I made my roster-management decisions based on Peyton Lewis being on the team, including progressing him during the Player Progression stage.
This is a 16-user Online Dynasty, so losing an 88 OVR player because of an apparent roster bug creates a legitimate competitive-balance problem. The player I recruited and developed is now on another team’s roster while my team has been left short-handed at his position.
The issue is significant enough that I am now debating whether I should even continue through the season and play games against the other users because my roster has been altered through no action of my own.
Evidence
I have screenshots showing:
- Peyton Lewis officially SIGNED to Eastern Michigan.
- The recruiting screen stating “Peyton has signed to E. Michigan.”
- Peyton Lewis later appearing on Bowling Green’s roster as an 88 OVR HB.
I can provide additional Dynasty information if needed.
Please investigate the roster transition that occurs when advancing from Player Progression into the regular season, particularly for signed Transfer Portal players in Online Dynasty.
I would also appreciate clarification on whether there is any way to restore Peyton Lewis to Eastern Michigan, since he was legitimately signed, retained, and progressed by Eastern Michigan before the advance.
