Higher than normal PC Temps

I am having issues with Dead Space(2023) on my PC

The temps on both my cpu 91 degress and gpu was hotter than normal and they are uncomfortably high and I have my AIO Cooler on performance. My game settings we on normal I had to turn DLSS on and ray tracing off, The Game ran fine graphically outside of that.

My other issue I am also having issues with my keyboard not working with the game. I have a razer huntsman v2. I tried to plug in 2 different xbox controllers and those wont work either with the game. I have restarted my game, pc. including a new game file as well. I can only walk. I can't stomp or sprint. And when I picked up the plasma cutter it just stays up. Any insight on how to fix this? the only thing I have not tried to get the controller to work is unplugging my Keyboard and mouse entirely from the pc and booting up the game in BIg Picture mode on steam.

PC Specs

Cpu: Ryzen 5800X

GPU: Nvidia 3060 TI

MB: MSI x570

Ram: 64GB

The game is installed on a M.2

UPDATE: Unbinding the Controller key binds fixed keyboard issue!

  • It's not the hardware's fault. I have freshly installed Ryzen 7 5800x3d with Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 mm. I know this Ryzen is usually a bit hotter, but even stress testing (and I have done a lot) where there is 100% load on all cores and threads does not get past 80C. The game goes 85C on my CPU and the frequency on which the CPU works is 2.5 GHz. We know that the 5800x3d has a lot higher base clocks than that. I don't know what it is, maybe your precious Denuvo, but this issue has to be addressed. What I did to lower the temps though is from the BIOS I turned off SMT(hyperthreading) and the temps dropped to 75C. Might help other people. So it's not people's hardware, it's another PC port not properly optimized.

  • Here is a video on my findings after a week of testing and an hour of recording on the many many issues with this remake.

All I can say is that it really seems like the game has been told to run as close to 50% CPU usage as possible and for some reason the game heats up any CPU to nearly 100 degrees C!

    PLEASE FIX!!!!!!!!!!

I am on an i9-9900k and an RTX 2080 and none of the graphics settings improve the performance AT ALL!

replying to tag @EA_Barry and @EA_Illium this is the cause of the problem that everyone has been having with this game, CPU temps should not be hitting 100 degrees celsius but they are because of this awful bug!

@EA_Shepard I am also tagging you here as I have seen you are actively trying to help with this game, Vsync isn't working for me at all either

  • @EA_Illium I am ahving these issues on a really high end CPU and I have had to make a post about my findings, I have tagged you and several other community managers and got no reply, I have even made a 1 hour long recording of myself testing and benchmarking showing all of the issues with the game, it seems that no one at EA actually wants to help me, the chat bots didnt even believe I was having any issues and asked me to jump through all sorts of hoops before they would even escelate the issue to an actual human.

I will also be sending this message directly to you and to all of the community managers that I have seen in these boards as none of you are replying, thanks.

I am on an i9-9900k an rtx 2080 and 16Gb of ram.

I have no issue running any other EA game and I even play Escape from Tarkov at 144 fps.

here is the link to the topic I created: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/CPU-temperatures-Dead-Space-remake/m-p/13644251#M3962

    thanks.

@CuckiestBoi Hey, so this is going to be a situation where we have to find a cause and work around it. As there aren't any more updates to this, we would need quite a few players posting on this to get it escalated up.

I have launched this on 2 different machines, both very basic Windows installs and CPU usage has not rocketed to even close to 100% which typically indicates there is a common reason why multiple players are.

    Can you attach a DxDiag?

If you see threads with others or know others that are recent reports let me know and have them post here.

  • Thank you so much for replying!

I have made 2 dxdiag files for you, one where im not doing anything and one where I'm actually in game.

And there are tons and I mean TONS of complaints about this game, I would point you to Digital Foundry's video about it as they go into some great details about the problems.

One of the biggest problems I see is that not many people are looking at the actual CPU temps whilst the game is running or loading but as soon as I loaded it up with rivatuner I saw immediately that there is a serious problem, as you can see towards the end of my video I test Crysis 3 remastered on max graphics and manage to get 144 and my temps are in the 70s as opposed to Dead Space remake where having all of the graphics turned off i barely get 60 and my CPU is hitting 100 degrees at only 50% utilisation.

Please let me know of anything else or any tools you would like me to run to show you whats happening, thank you again so much for replying as this is a huuuuge problem that everyone is having and I believe its down to poor implementation of CPU usage.

  • Tuning graphics options made no change at all for me. It pushed 100 watts out of 125 all the time no matter what.
I just limited FPS to 100 (it was around 200 initially), and it finally calmed down my CPU to 80 watts, and cooler yelling stopped.
Well - a solution at some point:))

  • Probably they are mining on it, lol. Or a Denuvo OP. No clue - it's a corridor shooter with basic RT
