Re: Aim assist is not working on ps5

I just bought the game for PlayStation 5, using a PS5 DualSense Wireless Controller, and I have the same problem in December 2023.

Aim Assistance definitely seems to be buggy. The feature seems to work the way it's supposed to against Lurkers (the little critters that can jump onto the ceiling or walls and throw plasma at you with three tentacles that grow out of their backs). When pressing the "aim" trigger the cursor goes right to the critter, making killing them easy. But Aim Assistance doesn't seem to work against any other creatures.

I decided to test the feature on all the weapons to see if the feature only worked on some, and I just completed my test. I used the auto-save in Chapter 06: Environmental Hazard ("Inject Wheezer 01" mission), for repeatability because I knew I would face a critter coming down the hallway as soon as I went up the nearby elevator. I made sure Aim Assistance was set "on" in the settings. Then I tested each weapon (pulse rifle, flamethrower, contact gun, plasma cutter, line gun, and ripper) separately, reloading to the same autosave for each test.

In my test, Aim Assistance didn't work on the pulse rifle or any of the other weapons. Then I repeated the entire process after going to "settings," turning off Aim Assistance and turning it back on, with the same result. Moving along into the room beyond that, Aim Assistance still works against lurkers but not against any of the other creatures in that room.

I can't "aim with my thumbs" worth a damn, so my inability to use the Aim Assistance feature with the PS5 DualSense Wireless Controller means I have to play about half the game on "Easy" difficulty and the rest of the game on "Story" difficulty. This is really a bummer. I see on the EA boards that this problem was first reported back in January, nearly a year ago. Can't EA expedite this problem?
