Still waiting for the patch. If you do get it to work, I highly recommend using a controller as the game is just meant for it. The game is really good, just needs a patch badly and hopefully it fixes stability/launching issues.

I couldn't run the game after update Origin today. But I turned off Origin in game (settings) and it helped.

Hi,
Disabling overlay doesn't help - game starts with black screen then drops straight back to the desktop.
I spoke now in a chat with EA customer/tech support, they confirmed there is a servers problem, but no expected time to fixing.
One thing to note, upon starting and getting the black screen I hear 2 pops in the sound before it crashes back to the desktop.
No idea to what it is related, but definitely was not seen yesterday. Seems to me someone updated some code in the client files and caused a broken functionality. Had this issue were pinpointed to single or even just a handful of ppl then coincidence would have been more probable.
Too many ppl get same issues and overlay disabling merely shows the problem runs deeper than some dumb config switch.
I gave them by tomorrow to fix it before I pull the plug and ask for a refund.

Same issue here, but moreover, I cannot ask for a refund, when I try to do it says that I have no games that can be refunded !
I have been playing since this saturday and more than 24 hours have passed, so i cannot refund now.
I paid 70€ for a game that is not working

That's BS - speak with their tech support demand a refund since they mess with the updates, no one should suffer especially since there hasn't been but a few days since the purchase

This is really horrible. One day i can play and next day doesn't work. After Origin update. Guys make something with this or get me my money back.

EA is terrible. Bad support that doesnt care about the customers. How about you start selling your overpriced piece of **bleep** of a game AFTER you know it works?! At the very least listen to our complaints and hire someone that's not a pathethic programmer and FIX the problem.
I don't even know how to describe my problem other than "It doesn't work". 1 day it works, 2nd day it just crashes and freezes over and over, 3rd day it doesnt even start, 4th day it updates over and over and never starts, 5th day its syncing cloud data and then closing at 100%. WHERE do you even start fixing this **bleep**?!?! The game is nowhere near ready for release you greedy sons and daughters of lizards!!

you beautifull **bleep** this actually fixed it for me
thacks a lot :D
MinesTirith: Your solution helped me to to start the game. Now it works as before. It seems that the problem was that the update messed up somehow with Origin in-game rendering the game unable to launch. Thanks,
This solution helps if you were able to play before yesterday's update and not after it.
Thank you,
