Hi everyone,
I have the PC version of DAI, and it runs very hot on my crossfired 7950's. I mean, ridiculously hot that I'm worried that it might damage my cards. I'm hitting the 90's sometimes during gameplay, and I'm just slightly overclocking to 913/1285 (stock speeds are 900/1250)
I play other games such as starcraft 2, BF4 and i'm only hitting high 60's and 70's. what's wrong with this frigging game?
you stated that you used new thermal paste, yes?
are you sure the heatsink was properly remounted?
perhaps you could remount the heatsink, and use new thermal paste, and see if that is your issue.
If this does not help I would suggest leaving your case open, and using
a small, non-oscillating fan, and having it blow directly onto your video card(s).
or adding a case fan or two, or three, or more.
If your chasis allows for it, use the side panel fan, to blow air INTO the case.
If you have a top mounted fan, use that one to blow air OUT of the case.
(and just f.y.i. you voided the warantee on your video cards, when you did that,
so returning them probably will be an issue, at some point in the future, if you choose to do so.)
It has also been suggested to UNDERCLOCK your gpus for this game, not OVERCLOCK them.
This game is not optimized for PCs. It is already resource intensive, and is also known to misallocate,
and overallocate resources. which is possibly adding to the high usage, which could be leading to
the overheating.
IF underclocking doesn't help, try rolling back your drivers to the 344.65,
and ONLY installing the main driver and physx.
Do a clean, custom install, and DO NOT install audio, 3D, or Geforce Experience.
The shield streaming software is known to interfere with the game, even if it is disabled.
Also, unless you are playing multi-player, put your Origin app in offline mode before launching the game.
This will reduce communication between your system and the server, which "should" alleviate some
of your hardware load.
Turn off data sharing, as well.
