If that was towards me, it doesn't. Solas gets a bit shafted in the CS and post-Major Event dialogue department. Missing out on another personal quest and experiencing any conversations it offers is a big deal to me since he quickly became my favorite character. So this has me awful grumpy, finding out at nearly the arse end of the playthrough I started just for him. ๐
I just loaded up the pre-Faded for her save. Literally seconds before we reach the demon. Tried to see if letting him roast the mages changed anything, since I stopped him before. Sadly, it did not. I got the Quest Completed notification for it after returning to Skyhold, but it did not appear in completed quests. If it is related to this tracking thing not happening, that would mean having to go back to my very first Haven save, 5 hours in. I really don't want to do that. Especially if it might not even work anyway. What a drag.
- Anonymous11 years agoIt's a huge drag indeed - he's one of my favorites as well and I really want to do a romance playthrough. I'm bummed as it is that due to this even my other inquisitors cant get their friendship to shift/make his card change like the other companions. I really hope some one can work something out soon. I know there are other pressing issues but what a let down for solas fans

I'm probably gonna finish this playthrough bugged as it is and will be - with his missing dialogue in What Pride Had Wrought. (So much for my perfect canon playthrough, huh.) Then I'll go back and try and suss out what exactly is going on as much as I can from client side. If Measuring the Veil is inded supposed to be a tracking quest, then that does seem to be the beginning of all the issues. But If What Lies Dormant is timed to appear after one of the major events, on top of the tracked stuff, it's gonna be a huge pain to nail down without any way to actually see what's going on, or supposed to be going on in the code.
What I wouldn't give for an official toolkit or even console commands to work this sort of stuff out. Ugh. My kingdom for a >SetStage !
Personally, I think an entire missing questline for 160+ people (those are just the ones that somehow found out it existed, how many are missing it and don't even know?) is at least as pressing as anything else they need to fix.
- Anonymous11 years agoSomething I'm attempting is not activating any devices until after skyhold and see if it triggers. That's the only thing not tested yet to verify 100% that its broken.
Also as noted in other posts, his personal quest seems to have varied bugs on systems. Ps3 wise it doesn't go into a completed state when you check it in quest log.
If they do intend to fix it, they should put the artifacts in the collection tab also. When we can expect fix for this bug? It`s taking too long for you too fix it.

Please, yes -- it's incredibly disheartening to read this thread and realize my entire romance (and my 100+ hour playthrough) is possibly borked because of this quest not triggering. I'm playing on PC, so if anybody has a workaround that can force it to trigger despite the bug, please let me know. Otherwise, it needs patching ASAP.

Did you find out if waiting till Skyhold helps activate the quest?
Thanks!
- Anonymous11 years agoThe holidays are over guys. Fix the quests.
No one has been able to get 'What Lies Dormant' to work, as far as I can tell. I have been stalling my current (and first) playthrough waiting for a way to complete all Solas quests). When will there be a fix for this? Has Bioware/EA commented at all on this issue?

Yes, the Devs need to look into this problem ASAP! I'm somewhat of a completionist and it's really hampering the game to me since it doesn't activate for whatever reason!๐mileymad:
