So, here we go. I've done the War table mission that grants access to the boat that takes you to dragon island and I've gone everywhere you can possibly go on that island (even some places you technically can't go, because climbing and fade-stepping is fun) and the high dragon isn't anywhere. I've killed every other dragon and have nearly reached level 24 with my character, so killing the darn thing isn't really that much of an issue, I just want to kill it and be done with it. I've tried re-loading, traveling from every other area TO the Storm Coast and strictly traveled there from the war table as well. There's no inclination the dragon is even there, no lovely stomping noises or hisses as if its stuck behind an invisible wall or anything, but it does sound like a dragon might be sleeping in that Dwarven cave, which I didn't think Vinsomer did. Not that I've seen, anyway. I'm nearly 120 hours in and all I wanna do is kill the stupid thing befre going with Morrigan as this point. Gr!

There is an incline you have to follow up the mountain on the Dragon Island, did you find a path taking you to a circular area at the mountain/hill top? I can get a screenshot for you if needed or a vid to show the way up.

It's electric also so it's good to gear up on cold spells/items and armor with resistance.My walkthrough on getting there will be up shortly to show where the boat it. Keep in mind though you have to find a key in this area to unlock the door, the save I loaded from already had that part complete.

"Inquisition soldiers were dispatched to investigate a dwarven port on the Storm Coast that is currently being held by red templars. The port gives the red templars a foothold in the region. The soldiers have cleared the way to storm the port."If you want to get approval from Varric take him on this sidequest. There is an interior door that is also locked, one of the red templars you kill in this area drops that key.Youtube is being slow, vid will be ready in 20 mins. Will post a link then.HTH

I would be grateful fot both screen shot and video.Both dragon and giant disappeared for me. Also I can't enter the cave that is near dwarf statue on the west coast.

That dragon is very difficult to beat. Take some electrical protection (belt) with you. You'll need it!

I'm in the area where the dragon is supposed to be, but it's no where to be found. The last time I saw the dragon it had just killed the giant and then... poof. Did the necessary Red Templar mission and traveled to the island and no dragon. Dragonlings are everywhere, of course, but no high dragon. I've killed all the other dragons and I'm a level 23 so it's not hard, per say, but it's just bothersome that the dragon vanished and I can't kill it.

Once you enter the storm coast and watch the Dragon and Giant fighting, the Dragon will never return to that specific spot.
I assume you know where Dragon Island is, and the boat to get there. After scaling (no pun intended) the mountain to get to the very top, you'll find a wide circular area which should house the Dragon. As I recall it has a specific name like Vardillius or something. It's lvl 19.
If it isn't there, try returning to skyhold and then re-enter the Storm Coast (you can fast-travel directly to the boat to Dragon Island).

I finished Red Templar quest, traveled to Dragon Island and I've just spoted Vinsomer 😕mileylol:

I've re-loaded and hp-scotched from every other fast travel area as well as traveling strictly from the war table, but to no avail. : ( I've been pretty glitch free, save for some funny dialogue hiccups so I'm a bit frustrated that my playthrough won't be as thorough as I'd hoped.

It's entirely possibly that a series of events led to a bug in your game. Lots of buggy missions going around. I hope you can find a resolve and can complete your playthrough at some point.
