Unable to continue playing due to 'missing' dlc [PS4]
So.. I recently re-installed the DA:I's GOTY version (from disc) and everything went smoothly, but then the game stated that it's "UNABLE TO LOAD SAVE DATA AS REQUIRED DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT IS MISSING." etc, so I went to PSN store re-download the dlcs, but the store states that the code has already been used (SURPRISE, SURPRISE) and gives the error code WC-40372-6. So.. what now? The code had an expiration date of 13/10/2017 (why are there expiration dates on these things to begin with!?!), but I originally used the code in like, sometime 2015. Is there anything to fix the situation, other than 'buy the game again'?
Are you sure that you've redeemed the code on the same PSN account that you are using now? Activation codes are always disposable, which means you won't be able to redeem them again on a different or even the same account 🤭
If you're using only one PSN account then you should be able to download the content from PS Store without providing the code for the 2nd time.
I've used the same account ever since I got a ps3 back in the day, so that can't be it. I haven't borrowed the game or my console to anyone and nor have I had to reset to factory settings or format the bloody thing either.
Curiously, I re-installed the game one more time and while the patch 1.12 was downloading I went into the game and tried to load a save and now it stated that it was unable to load, because the installation of the dlc was still in progress, but once patch was done, it sang the same old tune as stated before.
I read about a possible solution in a similar situation; how starting a new game and getting access to the 'dlc chest' would somehow activate the dlc, but it didn't work for me. I might push all the way to Skyhold to at some point, in order to get access to those promotional weapons, and see if that could trigger it, but on my current schedule, that'll sometime next week at the earliest.
The golden nug game loads of stuff as expected, some of it might have been from the dlcs; can't be sure at this point, since according to the dates on my save files, it's been over a year since I last fired up this game.
I managed to download the black emporium dlc just fine at least and it disapperead from the 'missing' dlc list.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to check on which PSN/EA account the code was redeemed since our system doesn't recognize PlayStation codes ☹️ However, if you are sure that you're using the correct PSN account, perhaps the problem is in files synchronization? It is possible that you have some cloud saves that might be causing the issue.
I've managed to find some steps that helped a few people in the past:
3. Upload your Dragon Age save data to online storage (only if you have PS+)
4. Delete your save data from the system (make absolute sure that your saves show up on your online storage, if they aren't there then this will cause you to lose your data permanently! (skip this if you don't have PS+).
5. Cut the PS4 internet connection off.
6. Put Dragon Age back in and let it finish installing
7. Cut the PS4 internet connection back on, then download the patch by pressing Options on PS menu screen then select Check for Update
8. Once that is done, then press down on the PS4 Menu screen to highlight Related Items, press right to select Add-Ons. Then on the next screen press X on the arrow icon to the left of the Flames of the Inquisition DLC. Then let it finish downloaded.
Hopefully, they will be useful for you as well 🤞
Reaching Skyhold might trigger activation of a few DLCs as well, however most of them should be unlocked in Haven.
According to the game, I'm missing all of the paid dlcs, meaning both of the Spoils (Avvar & Qunari), Trespasser, The Descent Jaws of Hakkon. The GOTY also gave me the 'deluxe edition upgrade', but when I try to load a save it doesn't mention the flames equipment; probably 'cuz it adds just a few things.
I've never had the plus membership nor used any external drives, but sure I'll give that trick a try. Once I've tried that and gotten to Skyhold on this new PT, I'll get back to you. Might be next week, could be sooner.
Shame you can't just check the code like you said, but eh, whatcanyedo..
Well, my one and only external sdd isn't apparently supported by my console, so there goes that possible solution outta the window.
Also, I might just be too tired, but I'm having trouble understanding how you think I might have been able to use the code on another account, but then continue using the dlcs on my current account? If the codes are one-time-use-only and bound to an account so to speak, then I shouldn't have been able to use them on another account at all, right? English ain't my mother tongue, so I just might not be getting it. Plus techonological terms aren't exactly my strong suit to begin with.
Yeah, it would be easier if I could check this code for you, but as far as I am aware, PlayStation support should be able to get it done if they use a similar system like ours. They should also be able to confirm if the code is valid and was redeemed on your PSN account, so maybe it would be a good idea to get in touch with them as well?
It would probably solve your issue but I don't want you to spend extra money on them again if there might be a different solution available 😉
Try this link - it should allow you to send them an email inquiry.
If you want to get a phone number to their support, remember to change the region in the bottom left corner of the page, then choose: PlayStation 4 Help -> PlayStation Store and transactions -> Voucher codes -> Redeeming a voucher. At the bottom of the page you should see the call option, if it's available in your region.
Gaze for any dossiers that are named as another route to the ones, I recorded upstairs. My document had a record named 'DLC' in it. This shouldn't be there essentially right snap and snap expel. Certain clients have passed on records with names like DLC12 and DLC meandering similar thing enthusiasms, delete these.
Oh hey so sorry, I thought I replied to this age ago, but long story short: didn't get a hold of ps4 staff via email or otherwise (they just didn't reply to any of my messages; timezone issues I imagine) nor did things suddenly start working as I continued to play. But then in, April I think, the dlc bundle was on sale, so I just went ahead and bought it again.
So in other words, the issue wasn't solved, but nevertheless, case's closed now.
